Burger King Whopper

The one downfall of The Whopper however is, if you haven't perfected your hold and delivery system and you happen to get that raw onion/mayo/pattie grease concoction on your hands, you're smelling like B.O for the next several hours. Even the most robust hand soap can't remove that funk👃🧅♨️

Every ten years or so I try another Whopper and then I remember how much I dislike it 🫤 I like every other fast food burger though

BK does have one really good burger up here though, The Roadhouse King

I can’t remember when I went to a BK last. There are a decent number of them around. I remember the99c whopper jr was a decent snack when I was in HS. I liked that BK offered onion rings instead of fries.

I’m sure my kids would love to go to bk some time. I’ll add it to the list…

IMO, Burger King is one of the few if not the ONLY fast food joint that for for the most part, IS exactly the same as I remember from my 1980's High School days.

The original Chicken sandwich is exactly the same with the exception in the 80's the chicken sandwich was wrapped twice and cut in half. The Whopper is exactly the same, the fries do change every decade or so but the onion rings are the same now as the 80's.

Contrast, Wendys in the 70's featured commercials that were all about napkins and how juicy the burgers were but juicy translates to fats and a Wendys burger beef of today is not what I would call juicy as I assume the saturated fats are now much less and fats = taste.

Many years ago McD's changed from ice cream to frozen yogurt and the fried apple pies became baked apple pies.

But Burger Kings still rocks, notice next time you are at a Burger King during a busy time the entire parking lot will be filled with glorious smoke from those flame broiled burgers like a back yard BBQ! However, in my area Burger Kings still taste great but the locations are BAD, not clean and the employees are BAD too.

We did get a brand new nice Burger King but from day one had staffing issue. One day everything is fine, next day note on the door dining room closed drive thru only staff shortage, This became the norm and then CLOSED with-in a year.

First time I ate at Wendys I think I was about 10-11 years old, in Vancouver Canada. So either 1978 or 1979. Both my older brothers worked at the same job site and they would phone home and ask what I wanted...McDonalds or Wendys!
Wendys was fairly new in my city, McDonalds, A&W and Burger King was well established here long ago. In fact we got the first McDonalds in Canada here in 1967, in the suburb of Richmond.

Anyways, the Wendys.....it tasted amazing back then. I mean it was mind blowing, so fresh, the lettuce, tomato/cheese/beef, the bun...was so much better then the other Big Three burgers. It still is pretty good these days, but not quite as great as when I was a kid/teenager.
But I will say, the Big Macs and QuarterPounders from McDonalds back then were very good too. I remember the burgers were in styrofoam containers back then ( pre cardboard containers) and something about the way they sat in the container, all perfect, not steamed up, just right with a very good flavor. Then in 1991-96 ( I googled the dates) The McLean deluxe/MCdLt, again in a styrofoam container, was an excellent burger. Apparently it was a ''failure'', according to online resources. Not to me...lol.
I guess I should be happy they did away with the styrofoam containers, help keep the planet a bit more cleaner.

My favorite fast food burger. Usually make it double patty.
If you have Walmart plus there's a lot of perks for BK. Best one is a free Whopper every 3 months. April 1st! Time for my free Whopper!

BK is great BUT NOT BREAKFAST IMO but I made the mistake of watching the cook open the clear cellophane pre cooked pancakes and toss them in the microwave! Yuck! But now that I think about it for what ever reason you do know a Whopper is made fresh with all the toppings and then tossed in the Microwave a few seconds. Strange thing to do IMO to lettuce and tomato but regardless it is a tasty burger!

probably 20 years ago ate there and got food poisoning .so they can promote whatever and give me free food for the rest of my life you'll never see me there again. just driving by any BK turns my stomach, sorry BK

The Whopper is very good, and improved greatly, it's my favorite of the fast food Burgers. However I was disappointed in the Whopper Jr. I had last week. I rarely eat them, I thought they made it smaller in size now. Although its been years since I had a Whopper JR, so the change could have come long ago. In any event I'll be sticking with the Whopper. Their fries greatly improved too!
