Bulk 0/5w20 out there?

Looking for a good bulk oil I can purchase in 5 gallon pails in a 0w20 or 5w20. Want to do a VOA then be able to track how the oil does and would prefer a big enough 'lot' to do this.

Any of the top oils available in a case that is all the same lot#?

Castrol and Pennzoil have oil in 5 or 6 gal bags in a box. I've seen those in person but don't know about the other companies. Have to go through a distributor to get it. Our distributor at work handles all the Shell products and they have the boxes of Pennzoil. CAlled the econobox.

You can always mix up 5 gallons out of quarts/gallons and do the VOA on that. Lot-to-lot variation will be nullified. I think that will accomplish what you are after.

The Toyota 0W-20 is available to their Toyota/Lexus dealers in bulk. Another member actually got a great deal on the oil by having his local Toyota dealership fill up some 5 quart jugs for him. If you have an empty clean 5 gallon pail (very heavy btw once filled) talk to your local dealer and see what deal you can strike.

A lot of places don't like to sell their engine oils in 5 gallon buckets due to the cost. Each bucket costs about $10.

A 5 gallon pail capable of holding motor oil is very inexpensive. We get plain white ones for $3 with lids and pour spout. That's for a small company. A large company could do it very cheaply. Most HDEO and tractor oil like Deere is sold in 5 gal pails.

We package bulk oil into drums and buckets for resale. The buckets we use range between $8 and $10 each including the lid. They aren't cheap low quality buckets.
