Has anyone used this in a Buick Rendezvous or a GM with the same transmission?

I did a change a while ago with Valvoline Dex-VI Full Synthetic, and it is running so much smoother than the original DEX-III that was in there.

I was considering buy this, but I was just wondering, if anyone has used the Mobil1 ATF in that link, and can let me know how it ran in their vehicle.

Also, does anyone know what this cost per quart at either AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts?

It appears to be pre-dex6. I used it in my 4t65 HD it did fine. There is a very little difference vs M1 and the current full syn Dex6 I am using now.

I see you are using the same Dex6/Valvoline. I think you may be downgrading since the M1 isn't Dex6 spec. I wouldn't waste my money at this time on a fluid change.

a friend of mine who owns a transmission shop in Florida says a transmission that shifts very smoothly so you can barely feel it wont last as long as a trans that shifts a little on the hard side (not electronic units)
I dont know i do very little transmission anything except maintanence...

ok I was just wondering. I'll just stick with the Valvoline I am using now.
When I was refering to the transmission shifting smoother, I was just comparing it to how bad and hard it had started to shift before the change to the DEX-VI. It still shifts hard, but it is a "good" hard, you know what I mean? lol

Usually after a fluid change you are able to tell a change in shift feel no matter the fluid type. This is especially true the longer the change interval. Dex III fluids shear down over time and the change in viscosity and friction characteristic of the fluid can lead to harsh shifting, especially when left in there too long.

Both the Valvoline or the M1 are decent fluids. To answer your question about price, our local AZ has M1 ATF for 7.99/qt and the AA down the street has it for 8.79/qt. How much you getting the Valvoline Dex VI for? It is usually about $6/qt here, IIRC.

I had Mobil 1 in my wife's 2004 Rendezvous. It was the synthetic replacement for Dex 111. I changed it out this past summer to Valvoline Dex V1. The Dex V1 seems to be smoother and shift better. I am going to stay with Dex V1.

The Rendezvous is hard on transmission fluid. The car has 104,000 miles on it and I have changed the transmission fluid three times. Yeah it has the orginal lower intake gaskets in it.

I think that GM finally fixed the LIM gasket issue by MY 2004. My sister's 04 Pontiac van with 3.4L V6 has had no issues with nearly 100k hard miles. They are in Pensacola FL and using M1 10w30 HM oil year round and Amsoil ATF, with a large aux trans cooler and inline filter upgrades. Fluids looks and smells new year after year. I think the main issue with these FWD GM transaxles is the heat, due in part no doubt to the relatively slow lock-up of the torque converter clutch by design.

It was $7.99 a quart when I did the change back in Febuary.
