Yup, Champion... Work fine, have used them for years without any issues. Gap is important though! Make sure it's dead on.
Personally I have found that both of my Briggs motors(Both 7HP InTeks) like Bosch Super Start plugs. It realy is what your mower likes.
How often should they be changed? I have over 500 hours on a briggs and have never given it a second thought because it still runs like new. I would want to put back in whatever came out of it because they obviously have been pretty good so its champion right?
Not a fan of Champion Plugs either. NGK seem like the best option for a lot of engines.
Champions work fine in applications designed for them, and the occasional one calling for a copper plug that wasn't. Saturn S-Series seem to like a Champion better than the AC Delco replacement. Briggs will run fine one either NGK or Champion, Tecumseh's seem to prefer Champion. 90% of Chrysler products use Champions. Don't use them in GM(except for a couple of engines) or Ford. Anything Asian usually(but not always uses NGK(Kia tends to show up with Champion plugs) and if it's German usually it uses a Bosch plug(some VW's come with NGK). OEM replacement is always best.

E3 plugs seem to work very very well in my Briggs 675. It uses much less gas than the original Champion plug. Starts faster too.
