Sorry for the poor quality, taken will cell phone.
This filter went roughly 100 hours on Rotella from end of last season. Filter looks well built (silicone ADBV, metal end caps) as it should for the price (11-13 retail). Let it drain for 2 days, but still held roughly 4-6 oz of motor oil.

Would I use them again? Yes, but I can buy 3 MotorCraft 400s for the price of one of these.

Looks like Purolator made this one, by the metal end caps and stout, although not much, filter media, or does Fram make these?

Mower now has MC 400s and Delvac 1300 15w40.

Baseplate and gasket held up. Plate is heavy, about a 1/4 pound or so.

Media held up. Pleats were even. No sludge, just residual oil in the pleats. No signs of metal, or tearing.

Good choices, MC 400s and Delvac 1300 are best bang for the $. Briggs Oil Filter is very good but not 3 times as good as MC.

The Motorcraft FL-400S is probably at least 3 times larger in size too.

Who used to do the one larger inlet hole? It used to be characteristic of somebody, but I forget who. Don't remember seeing one for a while.

Champ Labs, I believe. All of the Champs and Champ-made filters I have for my Subaru and wife's Toyota, all non-Ecore, have one oddball inlet hole.

I thought I saw on BITOG that the B&S filters were made by Fram, although now B&S has a premium plus filter that is the '70's harvest gold like the PureOnes. Dunno?

Yeah, since posting I came across an ST base plate in my junk collection and sure enough it had one larger hole.

I have ingested so much info here in the past few months, I am losing track of who makes what. Then again, I just finished reading the synlube MSDS post, for entertainment purposes and I think I lost some neurons reading Kirk's posts....

Yeah. Definitely Champ Labs. The hole is somehow used in the assembly process to orient the base plate.

Nice well built filters noticed the good quality at the local hardware store however like the others have mentioned an automoive filter is always cheaper and more options of brands to chose from, at least we know briggs and stratton cares about their customers to offer such a good filter the Kohler branded filter for my mower is a piece of cheap junk I use a WIX 1348 or a Hastings LF157.
