Bought a new Tundra

It finally warmed up enough to get my Diamondback cover installed and I like it. I am approaching 11,000 miles and so far so good. Please excuse my dirty truck.

How is your Tundra doing? Do you still like it?
It's doing well. The Tundra now has 15,000 miles and has not had any issues and just regular maintenance so far. I did the 5 and 15 thousand mile oil changes and let the dealer do the free 10,000 mile change.

I don't have many complaints but I still don't like the center console design. I have only done a little light towing with it although my wife and I are considering the purchase of a small camper. I still love the truck and I have it scheduled for its annual fluid film application in two weeks.

I'm morbidly curious about the 300 hp and torque inline 3 in the hot hatch being used in a tundra especially with a hybrid system. That'd be funny to imagine, a tiny 1.6 liter 3 banger in a full size truck engine bay taking up no space. It wouldn't be terrible either.

I'll take hid over led any day. I wish BMW wouldn't discontinue their laser headlights. Those are amazing but $3,500 per side.

I had Halogen headlights in a 2020 F150. They were literally the worst headlights in any vehicle I have ever owned. Many switched over to LED's in the factory housing-with mixed results when using the reflectors meant for a Halogens.

Two year update.

This week marks the two year anniversary with my Tundra and let's address the elephant in the room first, the truck is now at nearly 29,000 miles and the engine has not grenaded yet (hope that I haven't jinxed myself). I did buy a Toyota extended bumper to bumper warranty for $1200 that takes me out to 7 years and 100,000 miles for peace of mind and I almost never buy extended warranties.

So how has the truck been? In a word, flawless. It still has a few niggling annoyances with the main one being the center console. My wife nicknamed my truck the 'Queen Mary' due to its size and turning radius. She hates driving it and the turning radius is not great but I have learned and adapted to it. I am still averaging over 20mpg on the fuelly app since new even with some towing in the mix and the truck has received only regular maintenance.

Would I buy it again? I think so, there is not a perfect half ton truck out there and I know that everyone has their own opinion. We did buy that camper that I mentioned earlier in the thread and we have taken it out twice but they were both in New England. We have a much longer multi thousand mile trip planned for September. Here's another pic.
