Had trouble finding a denso , even tho I am in a big city. Could order one I guess, and wait a week.
had start up rattle with a wix. so I paid $8.99 for a fram ultra- wal mart wanted 12.95 for a boosch distance.
first fram I ever bought.

I'm a big fan of DENSO filters; I used them almost exclusively on my 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe which I sold in spring. But the Fram ULTRA is top-notch and hard to beat. Given everything I've read about them, for the first time ever, I'm using an oil filter for a second OCI currently on our VUE. The first interval was 6,400 miles and the second interval will be around 6K.

My guess is the Japanese control quality on a more vigilant basis than Fram.
The Denso will more likely be all the same as each other. which is good.
I was/am a denso fan too- hard to find them- maybe I should call new car dealers or order on line.
on line denso price with shipping was about the same as buying the Fram ultra locally- is the fram ultra a better filter?

I don't have any specifics on the Denso, but I'd bet lunch that the Fram offers better filtration.
Japanese OEM oil filters typically favor flow over filtration, although even a very restrictive oil filter will flow considerably more oil than the oil pump can provide.

My Step Father who is a Turbo specialist whom has his own Turbo company has always said Denso is a good parts company and makes very good parts. I remember on a old Motorcycle I had one time, I tried all the spark plugs that would work with it, however the Denso plugs were night and day above the rest.....

Cant go wrong with Denso.

Heck on my Honda Accord many of the parts say DENSO right on them from the factory

Also you can get DENSO Oil Fitlers from ROCKAUTO

You can't go wrong with a Fram ULTRA...

IMO....It leads the pack of long OCI filters in construction, price, and most important..... efficiency.

The Ultra definitely is hard to beat in all those categories. FRAM has a winner with it IMO. I hope they don't mess with a good thing.

Well yesterday I was at Wallymart and I saw Fram Ultra 7313 , looking right at me so I bought it.. Put it on my Honda just a lil while ago.

I had a FRAM High Mileage Filter on that I put on for the [censored] of it.

I just got done cutting the FRAM HIGH MILEAGEe Filter open... Right next to it I had a HONDA GENUINE A02 that was already cut Open... Well to my SURPISE I looked at the Filter and counted the pleats and it had the exact same number, and the only difference was the color.

The FRAM HIGH MILEAGE filter media was darker and the Honda Genuine A02 was much Lighter. Also the FRAM HIGH MILEAGE Filter had that Lil Basket with that TRT Goo... There was still some left as I only had the Filter on a few weeks.

Well I put on the FRAM ULTRA on my Honda and I must say the Filter seems to be heavier then the other 2, meaning the FRAM HIGH MILEAGE and the HONDA Genuine A02 aka Tough Guard.

With So many people here telling me that the FRAM ULTRA SYNTHETIC OIL FILTER is the FILTER they use and with so many people saying its a good / great filter I figured I would go ahead a try it , perhaps use it for now on

Even people who in the past seem to dislike FRAM , have seem to embrace the FRAM ULTRA.

Also... Does anyone know why the Honda Genuine A02 that Im told is basically a FRAM TOUGH GUARD... Does anyone know why the Filter Media is LIGHTER then the FILTER MEDIA on the FRAM HIGH MILEAGE??? I even have a FRAM EXTRA GUARD that is CUT OPEN and its even darker then the Media on the Extra Guard.... I leave a FRAM Extra Guard in a Zip Lock bag in the Garage.

Anyways.

The A02 is made by Fram, but it's not a Tough Guard. The difference is in the efficiency of the media, made to Honda's specifications. The A02 has an efficiency of 65-67%, the Tough Guard has an efficiency of 99%.
