saw this on another forum, interesting debate going on there.

If both were drowning and you could only save one...which would you save? you're beloved furry best friend or some random stranger that you've never seen?

Stranger - would be my choice.

Why?
Humans live longer than dogs and the guy could be the next world leader or change man-kind for the good.

The dog is an animal and although we have a connection to such animals they are just animals like any other and why should one matter more than one we eat?

They really do nothing more than really amuse us and keep us company for our own glutenous enjoyment?

Don't get me wrong, I love my dog to bits, but if I had to choose I choose a human life. I would say a prayer first for her though and kiss her goodbye if time allowed...

Then again, can't dogs swim???

Just my $0.02

Is the stranger going to sign a release swearing that he wont sue me for any injuries he might sustain from my saving him?

My dog. The stranger. Thats a tough call, I would like to think I would save the stranger, but I cant swear to it.

Dog. Cause chances are the person is going to start talking and I'm going start wishing I left them behind.

...Wait, this stranger, she cute?

went for a beer, and now i see more replies.
'gotta go with dave123 on this.i find it funny that there is an interesting debate about this on another forum. ranks right up there with THE most inane/moronic question of all time -- "hon, does this dress make my butt look fat"?
OP -- thanks for passing this along from the other forum.bitogers will have a good laugh.have a good night.

I don't think our Great Pyrenees would have needed saving, and he probably could have saved me, although I am a certified rescue diver.
Still, a dog is a member of the family, while a stranger is not.
I would save my dog, without reservation.
The stranger should have learned better water survival skills.
So sorry.
