Does anybody know the part number for the oversize (Ford) oil filter for a Jeep 4.0L straight six engine(non-metric threads) in the Bosch Premium?

What year Jeep??
I don't know any of the Bosch filter #'s, but if your Jeep 4.0 I-6 uses the "regular" Chrysler filter(AC-Delco PF-13, Fram PH-16, Wix 51085, Purolator L14670, etc), you could cross-ref to the old, semi-large "standard Ford" filter: (evil)Fram PH-8A, Motorcraft FL-1A. The "in-between" size, used on lots of older Chrysler products, can be found by cross-ref to a Fram PH-43, I think.
Info I have is showing a Bosch Premimun 3500 cross referencing to a FL-1A and PH8A. BTW I use this oversized filter on my Jeep 2.5L which uses the same oil filter as the 4.0
Thanks for the replies...I'm using the Ford V8 filter numbers..I think it's 80-91 302 V8's...but I think the 3500 Bosch Premium might be the one...I'll check when I get to Autozone to be sure.Canadian Tire up here in Canada used to stock them but not any more.Fram edged them out I guess.The dude at the counter told me all we have are Fram,Motormaster (Fram),Quaker State(Fram),or Formula 1 (Fram)...big choice
...I was flipping a few filters over on the shelf to peak inside of them...on of the Quaker States disdn't have a rubber gasket on it,and it was wrapped in plastic for sale
.I'll have to go across the border to a country where there are choices I guess
look around for independent auto supply shops. it shouldn't take you long to hunt down a private label purolator or wix filter.quote:

So a Super Tech ST8A is the correct oversize filter for a 4.0L Jeep Cherokee? I'm asking b/c I'm changing my friend's oil this weekend. TIA.
That is correct the SuperTech ST8A is the correct oversized filter for the Jeep 2.5 and 4.0 engines.
Around here they all stock Fram,Purolater,Wix(Napa)or Baldwin(Amzoil)...but I want to try a Bosch Premium!I use the Mobils now and find I'm getting a slight lag on my 01 TJ at start-up,according to the gauge.My 99 XJ is the same pressure with OEM or the Mobils so that will stay with the Mobils.It's just a little experiment with filters. So long as it isn't an older Cherokee with the metric threads. I -think- that includes 1987-1991 Cherokees with the 4.0l. I know thats the case for my '88 at least! Converting to the standard threads to use the "oversized" filter is a pretty easy and common mod on these older engines (except for needing the T60 Torx socket - more tools!)
MNGopher is correct about the older 4.0 engines that had the metric threads but for newer 4.0's the Supertech ST8A is the correct oversize filter.
The Bosch Premium part number was 3500 for the 4.0L and the 2.5L Jeep motor,this is the Ford oversized..double-check with the computor at Autozone to-day.Installed one to-day with a fresh change of Mobil 1 10w30 SS.All the pressure readings were the same..highway and idle..as compared to the other oversized filter brands I've been using.Thanks guys!
