The good, bad and ugly?

Not that $6.78 is a deal... any bitog members with real time driving experience on these filters?

Looking at throwing one or two in my cart to be added to my upcoming delivery filter in mind is the BOSCH 3300.

Is "FILTECH" something new?

Bosch filters always felt heavier and solid to me.
After years of testing and gossip, I believe the verdict is that they're 'average'.

So, is "FILTECH" an improvement?

Now made in Mexico and c&p anecdotes here and on you tube have shown them to be, no bueno. Sloppy excess glue, poor pleat spacing uniformity and poorly formed or closed louvers. My advice, stay far away.

Otoh, the previous made in US 3323 in my experience with multiple c&p here, excellent. But, they are gone now.

As for the "Filtech" name, just a name Bosch liked to use for their media. Years ago they were made by Champ Labs then Bosch/M&H owned Purolator, then just M&H Puro. They kept the "Filtech" name but in my observation of the latter two media, same as Purolator P1/PL media.

Ditto as above. I don't use Bosch filters any longer. The last two purchased for my Ford had a large bolus of brown glue on the inside of the center tube. Don't know if or at what temperature hot oil will emulsify that glue and allow my engine to digest it. And I'm not going to find out.

Been running the 3323's on my Honda for the past 5 years with no issues.

Recently I tried prefilling the filter to see if the media would absorb the oil despite the louvers appearing "closed".
Sure enough within 1-2 seconds, the oil disappeared.
As for the excess adhesive/glue, it seems silly to waste materials, especially given the rising costs of everything lately.

just my .o2

Even louvers pretty choked down would do that - ie, super low flow rate going on. What counts is how much excess dP they may be produced in actual use if they are all choked down.
