Did Bosch Oil Filters Change?

While browsing on RockAuto today, I noticed that two Bosch Premium Filters (3300 and 3312) are both priced at $2.69. Normally, I see these filters priced in the $6-$8 range at the retail level and RockAuto tends to be 20-30% less, but not drastically less.

Did the Bosch filters recently get downgraded or is RockAuto just selling them for an abnormally low price?

In the US they're most likely Purolators with a different badge. Perhaps Rock were making a bigger margin beforehand, and now the price is more in line with the quality of the product?

The 3312 and 3300 are the premium black bosch filters with silicone drain back valves. If it says Bosch Workshop filter that is most likely a rebadged Purolator.

If the RA description and illustrations is accurate, then BP still basically a P1, same as normal since ~06. Don't keep up RA pricing on filters but appears they have about dozen BP applications under $3 not including shipping. Obviously shipping changes price, looking at 6 min of the 3323 ~$4.60 each. AZ BP's still priced at ~$7 across their stock and still the same construction. So afaik if as described no changes.

Bosch Workshop filter using nitrile adbv wouldn't match description of BP silicone.

I suppose they could be old stock filters at that price. Hard to say. I have two of the older Bosch Premiums, model 72161, which I believe precedes the new Bosch numbering system as well as the Purolator tearing problems. Mine were made in 2011.
