Good Adternoon folks. Off brothers 68’ Cadillac DeVille Convertible. Engine is 500 punched out to 514 cubic inch. Filter was on for year less than 2k he says. Put a fat wix filter on made in 2018. Some metal bits in pleats; not magnetic though.

Filter looks fine, louvers included. In my experience with similar US made Bosch Premium 3323, they have been quality made filters. Unfortunately, since they moved production to Mexico, no longer true. Wouldn't purchase one now.

Thanks for c&p.

I agree. Least it caught the metal bits. Brother thinks it’s cam roller guide going south.

Oil in: WIX fat filter, forgot number as box is already in landfill. Oil put in was QS EURO 5w40 and 2 quarts HPL EC 30

Took intake off bit ago. Cam looks fine, dropped oil pan too. Nothing but few speckles of stuff there. Not magnetic. Thinking of rebuilding engine this winter. Brother has like 13 500 blocks and 23 cranks. 17 472 blocks. Needless to say he has most of what’s needed except for machine shop.

OK, if this it's 3rd oil change then? If so, I wouldn't worry TOO much about the aluminum as long as it runs well and the oil pressure is good, unless you start seeing more of it.
yeah, 3rd oil change. First couple changes were with Mobil Delvac SAE 30

Love that front license plate! I remember when those Coupe De Villes, Sedan De Villes, & Eldorados roamed the Earth! Like automotive Jurassic Park!
Yeah, brother bought our aunt and uncles 76’ Eldorado that had early cast iron transaxle. I drove it for few winters; never got stuck even in 2’ snow. Would go anywhere. Brother and I have box of 8 tracks too that were in trunk and some cardboard cans of 10w20 PYB.
