Was in service for 2k miles. Van hit 6k so I did another change and reset the monitor. Will probably run until 10k miles and then do 5k intervals thereafter.

Was surprised to see less media in this can vs the 84356. I also like the bypass design on that filter better. Will continue using the CQP 84356 or Bosch 3323 moving forward.

Another Puroltor bypass spring design (the "flat spring"). I like the coil spring better.
The coil spring felt like it would open at spec.

The flat one was very difficult to crack open. I prefer less bypass, as long as the filter doesn't tear. The 84356 that I just put on will see at least 4k miles.

The force required to open the bypass valve depends on the PSI setting, and also on the area of the valve the pressure acts upon. Many years ago, someone proved the flat spring opened at the setting it was advertised at. But I still like the coil spring design.

Nice! I'll bet put a light down that center tube to confirm, all good. Sometimes I'll take a flashlight pic just as back up. As for using the 84236/3323 going forward, imo gain in oil filter volume of topic insignificant to former. And Zee06 found less media in PL14459 (same as topic) years ago. Seems I might have too, but I can't remember for sure. I've had very good post use anecdotes on Hondas/Nissans with Bosch Premium 3323 and I've been able to find them at a very reasonable price.

As for flat spring bypass, as mentioned years ago a member here, AuthorEditor did an excellent test on one and found it to work exactly as designed, at spec. Based on that, I have no hesitation about using filters with that design. I managed to find his test thread and linked it.
Thanks for c&p.
