Bosch HEPA - 1 year - 12,000 miles

Figured i’d bump instead of starting new. Just an awful filter! Maybe it does clean the air but in less than 6 months, my fan is buzzing as well. This has gotta go and I’d never use one again. The car is the wife’s old 2018 rogue, which has too much cabin for the system to begin with. This things gotta cut airflow by at least 30%. Live and learn.

We use the Bosch Hepa's in a 17 Outback and a 21 Crosstrek; also have one on hand for a 23 Titan. Filters work well with no increased noise and perceived drop in airflow. The Titan one will go in during Summer.

Well I swapped it out and can’t blame it on the filter. Anyone who’s ever changed a filter on Nissans horrible (under the dash) location would know what I’m talking about. You have to scrunch up the filter accordion style and shove the filter into a slot half its size, then hope when the filter expands that it fills the opening and is correct. Truly a stupid, stupid design. Well, this Bosch didn’t expand, so for the last 10 months I was driving around with about half a filter with one half being doubled up. The Bosch was so thick I wasn’t able to contort my self with a flashlight to see if it was right. The carquest I replaced it with wasn’t as thick so I could see it seated in the opening. Improved air flow for sure and now it’s actually filtering instead of there being a gap with no filter.

Edit to above post: My 23 Titan also has a Bosch Hepa installed. Just checked the maintenance records and I replaced it at 10707 miles in 10/2023. Have a spare to go in within the next couple of months.

On the Titan (not sure about other Nissan's), I unbolt the fuse panel and the filter slides in just fine; no need to compress/scrunch with 5 mins of extra work. A couple of pictures below from my previous 18 truck for reference; Amazon Basics CAF used back then.

That’d be nice but different design. There’s really only one way and it’s a royal pain in the rump. Unless you’re a 15 yr old gymnast it’s a horrible way to have to position the body.
