Is there drip holes in that panel? I would just make sure all exposed metal is painted and covered and rust proofed. Keep an eye on it every year.

I don’t see any drilling other than at the seam.

Interesting to me.

Two layers of rattle can rust oleum rust converter, one of rattle can rust oleum rust stop, then lots of cosmoline.

OE was a breathable fabric tape with some sort of coating (it may be the undercoating they used). I thought it was a bit weird when I removed it.

Mine dripped out of the seam weld at the bottom of the rocker panels and no mine are not rusted. I think that's just how it's designed.

Next year, just sticking the aerosol tube through the tape and spray it good.
