Black Carpet Anyone?

I toured a new home in Southern Maryland this week and the common areas were LVP but the bedrooms and hallways as
well as the whole finished basement was black carpet..yes black carpet.. ️ the place was huge and the carpet made a statement I didn't like
Is this the new rage? Yuck.

I have black wooden floor in our bedroom, well ebony really. It helps in keeping the room dark during our shorter nights. Only the ceiling is very light, so that we get a decent amount of light when we want it.

I have dark walnut in mine.
