Today is the day, 1 year ago, that I purchased the Board from Bob. Due to his medical condition he could not keep up with the Board and Medical. The Board has continued to grow on the foundation that Bob had laid out. We had 3700 members one year ago, and have grown to 6550, an increase of 2850 members.
Due to the increased membership, we have had to expand the number of Topic Forums to include more Sub-Topics. We have months with over 1 million page views, and many months that are real close. We have registered members from many Countries. We have page views from an average of 27 different Countries almost daily.
The Board has expanded so much that we now have the long downloads running on a second server. Our primary server for the forums is located in Australia and the second one is in the U.S. It contains the Oil Study, Air Filter Study, and the BITOG Library, (under construction), and all the lengthy downloads. Doing it this way, the speed of the site has remained very fast and no slow downloads. Thanks to wwilson, LarryD and Joee12 for taking care of any program problems as they occur. With out them, there would not be a BITOG. They 100% take care of that end. Other than a virus that hit our server in Australia, our UP time has been over 99%. This says a lot for the help from these 3 Moderators.
Rugerman, Dan 4510, SBC350, Patman and myself take care of the Moderating duties. Patman is up in the wee hours of the morning when the air is not even turned on yet, and he takes care of the Board in those hours plus visits during the day. Rugerman, Dan and SBC30 and myself try to cover the rest of the time. Answering e-mails, PM's and research are also a big part of the job. It would shock the average person the amount of time each spends on these items. Again, the board would not flow as it does without the efforts of these Moderators. My hat off to them and a big THANKS.
Tomorrow starts another year. The information and knowledge on the board just keeps increasing. We have some very notable members and very knowledgeable posters. Thanks to all the members for your posts, information and questions. You are what drives us to try and make your visit an informative and interesting experience.
