2 week ago I bought a 1994 Honda Acty. Last week I bought a 2025 Silverado 2500 gasser--Crew Cab and Long Bed. She's a battleship!! It was just what I wanted: LT, with leather, Z71, factory 5th wheel and bed liner, and trailering package.

Two vastly different vehicles. But in BITOG style, I had to re-up my oil and filter supplies: 5 gallons of 5w30 No VII, 5 gallons of 5w40 Super Car, 6 quart bottles of each, and some RP filters.

Are the mini trucks good for anything? I see them from time to time but never actually did any research or knew anyone that owned one. Are they any different than a four Wheeler with a bed?

There actually what is predominantly used to haul freight around in big, mostly Asian cities, like Tokyo. So yes, if that fits your needs there very versatile. I see a few around here in the city.

You can put 800# in the bed. So that's handy. Plus it's a fun commuter vehicle for work. hardware, grocery, etc.

For me, it's mostly fun. Helps keeps miles oof and prevents unnecessary gas guzzling caused by my 2500 and 3500 Silverados.

What engine in the Silverado??

Really digging that Silverado beast. Lucky for me it wouldn't fit in the garage so I settled on a half-ton.

Meh, owning one I couldn't let it lose 63 lb-ft.
GM is currently tooling up for a new generation of HD gas truck engine. I haven't heard much, only that it's coming. I wonder what the HP and TQ numbers will look like.

Of course, GM already offers a high-performance crate engine of the 6.6L gasser in my truck. The L8P takes the L8T and moves the HP from 401HP --> 523HP and the Torque goes from 464 --> 543 Ft-Lbs ..... substantial bumps.

My friend tried towing with that - had a new GMC DMax a year later …

Gas vs diesel isn't even close, but depends on what you're towing too.

I always say, better to tow with a diesel but own a gasser. Pros and cons to each but for what I'm towing I'd take the gasser everytime.
