Best wax / sealant for a new ride

What are your thoughts on the best bang for buck protective coating for a new silverado in graystone metallic? Preferably something easily attainable and this would be for hand application only.

NuFinish to harsh/extensive for new paint? Seems good for older vehicles.

Liquid Glass - leaning this way from what I read so far

Klasse - Seems expensive and hard to find, but good reviews

2001 Car Polish works well for me. It may not give the deepest shine, but the beads and protection remains for six months or-so. That's what matters-most to me.
 
I'm extremely satisfied with the Blackfire Wet Diamond stuff I put on my Accord this weekend. Previously I was using Meguiars #26 just because I had it around, but the shine of this stuff is just amazing. Supposed to be pretty durable too (up to 6 months). It's only been a few days so I can't comment on that yet. If you're looking for stuff you can get locally, I've heard good things about Meguiars NXT.
 
For store-bought products, Liquid Glass is pretty good, esp for new paint as it doesn't have a lot of cleaning/polishing power.

I also like Mothers FX Synwax. Leaves a nice, bright shine and is easy to use but doesn't last as long as LG. Looks great on metallic paint.

Meguiars NXT looks better on solid colors like black and red IMO, and kind of mutes metallics. But that's just me; give it a try and see how you like it. Meguiars Gold Class looks like the Mothers product I mentioned (bright and glossy) but has a history of poor durability and it stains trim.

If a local auto parts store carries the Duragloss line, that is a good choice as well. Their retail distribution isn't as good as the big names but they offer a full product line of good quality stuff. You can find some of their retailers here: http://www.duragloss.com/duragloss-stores.asp

If you're willing to shop online and spend more $$, the sky's the limit. For my $$ nothing beats Zaino for shine, gloss and durability. The Klasse twins (All In One and Sealant Glaze) are tried and true products. These are my two top suggestions for a sealant.
 
Look at the Duragloss line of products at some (not all) NAPA and CarQuest Auto Stores. Inexpensive and very, very good. They have a polish, sealant and their spray "wax" lsp topper (actually an acrylic) called AquaWax is top of the line and I'd compare it favorably with Wolfgang's Spray Sealant and Menzerna's High Gloss Acrylic Shield (these are expensive and have to be ordered). I think the AquaWax is about seven bucks. They also have a very good QD called Fast Clean and Shine that cleans well and leaves a very nice gloss. It is another product to match the "boutique" brands in performance but at half the price.
 
I've been really happy with Turtle Wax Ice
The trick is to buff it off after you put it on, not let it sit, and it's slick as glass.
 
All the debate, bickering, arguing, on and on and on and then argue and debate some more and nobody can offer definitive unarguable proof of the bast product to use so save thineself a tremendous amount of grief and effort and sweat and whatnot by throwing dollops of mud upon thine vehicle then give nary a thought again about an incredibly thin layer of shiny stuff that is far from being permanent and would melt away with the first thermonuclear bolast within thine area or from any nearby volcanic eruption or geothermal geyser spouting horribly hot watry-type watr and steam as well as the constant bombardment by short wavelength radiation from beyond the stars and who knows what else can attack the paint upon thine conveyance and what the heck were we talking about I forgot while writing this terribly long sentence oh yeah, protecting paint, well, everybody has their opinion and we know what opinions are worth but I do have an opinion and I think I gave it but if you do not want to do the smart thing and just give up and never give nary a thought to protecting paint then I will have to agree with that guy upstairs a few posts back and just use the stuff he recommends though he is likely wrong and the other guy is right but what do those guys know?

Ill just tell you what Ive done with two vehicles, both of which Ive been happy with the results.

My 98 S10 ZR2 I got new in the winter. Come the spring, I started using the Meguiars gold class set of products. About once a month, I did all three, clearcoat prep, polish and wax.

My truck sits in the garage now, and it is due a wax... However, every time I wash it, water still beads right up, and I have not waxed it in two years!!!

Now, my 04 saab, I bought new in the summer. I decided to try the 3M set of polish and wax that they sell at pep boys. It goes on thick and doesnt come off quite as easily, but it, IMO looks deeper. However, it doesnt necessarily look shinyer, though the saab is silver and the truck is dark green.

And, looking shinyer is not necessarily an easy grade, it certainly reflects well and looks perfect. Now, after the thread about nufinish, and my happyness with how it turned out on my BMW, I decided to put it on over the other waxes on my saab, primarily ecause it gets some hot afternoon sun now, and as I understand, the Nufinish is very good UV-resistance wise.. I have to say that the finish, while looking shiny and glossy and good, doesnt feel as smooth as when I used the 3M series of waxes, or especially with the meguiars stuff. Its really strange too, because nufinish felt real smooth on my BMW.

Bu, all in all, Id say that any quality product is pretty darn good. I think that meguiars gold class is the shiniest of what Ive used, and 3M is a bt longer lasting if youre not putting on that many coats.

Zaino for sure is number one IMO since their upgrades, but from your list I would use klasse. Checkout Detailersclub.com-
