Best Wax / Paint Sealant for salty winters

I was thinking of getting the Klasse AIO + Gloss Sealant kit and maybe a coat of IW845 afterwards. I've never applied a sealant to a car before so I'm kind of worried about screwing up and having the body look bad for 12 months. Is it difficult to apply sealant? and to get this stuff off you pretty much have to wait awhile for it to wear off the body?

KAIO and Klasse sealant are easy as pie to apply and remove. And for for some odd reason if you manage to screw it up, you can remove Klasse and the gloss sealant. I think your over-thinking it, it's not like the sealant is permanent or can't be removed. The Klasse topped with 845 would be awesome FWIW.

I have Klasse AIO and 845 to go on the Outback and am also over thinking it as a newb to the whole "actually take care of your car" thing. What is the best way to apply them without a polisher? I have a kit of Cobra microfiber cloths and some mf applicators. Tempted just to buy a DA.

If you are OCD use a bonding agent like Duragloss PBA #601 before applying the sealant. I also second the Duragloss Marine 501 sealant recommendation. www.duragloss.com

NF stains trim, but Duragloss does not...

I use foam applicators as below. I use white for AIO's and red for 845.

I'm not an expert by any means, but the AIO is very easy to use. The Klasse sealant is a bit trickier. If you put it on too thick (like I almost always do), it can be a pain to buff off, but it DOES come off with a little bit of extra elbow grease. It won't stay on forever or screw up your paint lol.

It's nearly impossible to screw up. You put the AIO on, let it haze, buff it off. Then repeat with the sealant. It doesn't stain the vinyl trim as far as I can tell, and I'm far from careful about where I apply it.

Edit: this is Klasse AIO and Klasse Sealant specific. I don't know about any other brands.

Where were they when I bought a bunch of stuff on AG? Oh well. I'm just going to grab what I can find on Amazon for now to avoid a shipping charge for foam applicators. If I wasn't buying so much stuff for a trip coming up, I wouldn't be hesitant to drop the $$ on a polisher.

+2

Not all AIO's or cleaner waxes stain trim but NuFinish definitely does and Duragloss 501 doesn't.

1Z Glanz wax works very well. One good coat gets me through the Buffalo NY winter with the water still beading. Very easy to apply and remove.

It's an AWESOME product, but it's not a true last step protectant. It's more like a quick detailer than a true spray wax.
