Best retail found waxes?

All I do to prep is a through wash with Meguiars car wash and dry. I wax in the shade.
I live in Colorado so the sun is pretty intence. Winters are pretty long too. Most waxes don't last but a few months at most before water stops beeding. The longest I have let a car go between waxes was 9 months...NuFinish was the only wax to make it that long and it could have gone longer as it was still beeding water like it was just put on the paint.
I just wanted to point out NuFinish is better then most of you will admit. I found it pretty funny that most guessed "exotic" high end waxes like Zaino Bros when I first posted the pictures of my Z28. It proves Nu Finish has a great shine and depth to it.

If you want a long lasting product that is easy to use and sells for less than nearly anything else then Duragloss 105 is what you want.
The others will cost more and not last as long.
I have it on my show car and it wins every time out but remember the preparation is most important nothing will look good without proper prep.

Paste better than liquid? Is paste worth the extra work? And should you really scrub the car with a double dose of car wash soap to try to get it as clean as possible? And should you consider the Meguiars' three step stuff? I've never had a good answer on this kind of stuff other than someone saying one brand is better than another. By the way your Camaro looks great. Whan can I drop my car by so you can show me how it's done? Beautiful car.

Thanks!
Both work equly well but the liquid is a little easier to work with in my opinion.

yeah, but now...compare NuFinish on a car with metallic flake. I bet you Duragloss will pop so much more. Red/White/Black single stage paint isnt hard to make glossy.

Here's my VeeDub...

washed, dried, clay and sealed with Klasse SG. I can wax it with turtlewax and it'll still look like that because that's how white single stage is. I just use Klasse SG for the protection it gives.

Colonite Insulator Wax... found at Advance Auto Parts. Look in their Marine Section. Great OTC product.

I've read alot about Colonite Insulator wax. Is it really that good? How easy is it to use? I almost bought it...the packaging appears real cheap and low budget, but if it works, that's all that matters. How long does it protect for and how is the shine?

I put it back because I have like ELEVENTY BOTTLES of wax already.

its very good, the depth isnt as great as other waxes like P21S/S100. It's about equal to Meguiars #26 in looks, but it last a long long time. I only use it during winter or on my customer's offroad vehicles. I have a friend in detroit and he uses the insulator wax and usually a coat of wax will last him all through the detroit winter.

With all the talk of Duragloss 105 I bought a bottle when it was on sale at carquest. I live in Florida and my truck sits outside 24/7 in the and so far it has outlasted everything I have used which consists of most everything mentioned here and then some. I also bought a bottle of AW which seem's to be a very good product but I'm still trying to decide if I like it better than Malco spray wax.

Liquid Glass gets my nod as favorite retail bought polish/wax.

One that absolutely astounded me was "Kit" carnauba wax. Comes in a yellow bottle or can, and is one of the least expensive products on the shelf. I won some once at a car show, and tried it on my Durango this past winter just because it was there, I felt ambitious, it was free, and I didn't have any Liquid Glass at the shop at the time. I couldn't believe how well it worked! I didn't even really do much prep...Just applied it with my cheap Wal-Mart orbital with a terry bonnet, let it dry, and removed the excess with a terry towel. (I'm still not sold on microfibre yet) The gloss and depth it produced rivaled some of the most expensive products out there.
It doesn't last very long though...A few carwashes and the water beads were starting to flatten out.

i used the spray on nano wax for the first time about 2 months ago and the stuff is still very slick. as advertised its extremely easy to remove, definately the best stuff ive ever used especially for $5.

Collinite is great stuff. Their 476 wax lasts even longer than the Insulator wax, but it's a little more work to apply and remove. Applied in October, it will still have incredible beading the following April. I never tried to see how long it would actually last, but 6 months is a given.

Collinite beads so well that after 4 months or so it still beads water better than many products do when first applied.
If I'm going to use a carnauba wax, this is the one.
True, there are others that will look better, like Pinnacle, but they don't last as long and cost much more.

I use Mothers 3 step. Seems to work well for me. Apply with wax applicator and then remove with "wax removing" towel and buff with microfiber. Last 3-5 months with weekly washings...

Waxed my Wifes CR-V in April and water still beads and rolls off....

I love Collinite and is the only thing have been using for the past few years. Seems to hold up well on all my vehicles and my boat.

I discovered a combination last weekend that I really like. Start with a coat of Duragloss 101 clearcoat polish and follow up with Black Magic Carnauba paste wax (black tube). Nothing I've used yet produces shine and water beading like this.

I've found NXT tech wax to work very well and I use it almost all the time now. The best wax I have ever used is hard to find and was off the market for quite a few years, but is being made again. It's called Rain Dance and comes in blue plastic jars. Goes on easy and wipes off easy but it seemed to stay on for a long, long time. It gave one of the best shines I've ever seen. I've used NuFinish, Turtle wax, Kit wax, and Mother's and nothing seems to work as well as this stuff. There is 1 place in our area that sells it and lucky for me, it's right here in town (local hardware store).

I like to use 3M Show Car Wax (some NAPA stores have it). It is super easy to use. I also have used Finish First products for years. Comes off of rubber seals when you accidently get the wax on it. It may be hard to find though.
