I am looking to buy some good quality waxes from either autozone, advanced, or walmart. Are the retail meguires any good? I would like a cleaner wax and then just a protectant that does not have to be abrasive.

The only pure carnauba waxes that you are likely to find retail are Mother's California Gold Pure Carnauba Wax and Meguiars #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. Ensure that you do not get Mother's Cleaner Wax if you want a pure wax. Both come in paste and liquid.
I have seen Klasse All In One and Sealant Glaze once and it was pretty dusty so it's been there a while. Good product, but it costs a bit more than most waxes you find.

Carquest and Napa sell Duragloss products. These seem to be very good products at a reasonable cost. I use their Synthetic polishes and they offer great gloss and better durability than a pure wax. As aways, surface prep is key.
Napa can special order DG, but not the loved DG 105 (at least not mine). If you're lucky, (I was) Carquest can find you some 105 within their "free freight" distance.

Depends on what you consider "best". For me, if I had to choose an OTC wax, it'd be Meg's #26 hands down.
Colonite Insulator Wax... found at Advance Auto Parts. Look in their Marine Section. Great OTC product.
I've been using Meguiar's NXT liquid wax for a while and like it. It applies easily and buffs off easily by hand with just a microfiber towel. I use the NXT quick detailer to clean door jambs and such. I wash my vehicle between waxes with the NXT shampoo. Heck, they even have NXT glass cleaner which does an excellent job on glass surfaces, especially when using a special Meguiar's glass towel. I have seen the NXT waxes sold about everywhere, but I've had to mail order the shampoo and glass cleaner direct from Meguiar's. There might be "better" waxes, but this is the easiest one I've ever used. I don't dread waxing as much with this stuff.
I am looking for somthing that lasts long but do not wish to spend a small fortune. Does NXT last at least 3 months?
I used NXT for a while and yes I do believe it lasts at least 3 months if you have a good prepped surface. I am currently trying Zaino right now and I'm going to see how long it lasts. I'm tired of having to reapply NXT every few months. Speaking of that, I put on NuFinish a few months ago on my beater car and it still beads up like day one. If it was NXT, it probably would have been gone by now.
Duragloss at Car Quest.
It's cheap and last real long, Collinite 845 insulator wax is also very good.
And if you want a real Carnauba, get some S100 from your local harley dealership.
Duragloss 105 goes for about 9 dollars by the way, wipe it on really thin, then buff off. Wait another hour and hit with another thin layer. It should last you up to 6 months of protection.
Have you tried Klasse, Zaino, Duragloss, etc against the NuFinish?
I have and I can say Zaino will out last it by a large margin (although it's far more expensive), as will Klasse (layered), and Duragloss (Duragloss TPP #105)
Best bet is just going with the 105, for 9 bucks a bottle the shine and durability is better then NuFinish
I have tried Klasse and Zaino but not DuraGloss. I tried several others as well over a seven year period when several of our cars had to sit out side. The longet Zaino lasted till water did not beed up anymore was 14 weeks and that was sitting outside 24/7. Klasse was less at just over 9 weeks. Most other waxes were right in there at around 2 1/2 to 3 months till water no longer beeded.
Nu Finish was still beading water at 9 months like it was just applied. In my experence it lasted far far longer then anything reguardless of price. I repeeted the above several times to make sure and NuFinish always lasted that longest by far.
As for NuFinish's shine I posted the above Camaro pictures on here a while back having people guess which wax I used on it. Most people guessed a much more expensive wax Zaino was even mentioned IIRC. I laughed pretty hard when I told everyone it was NuFinish. Most detail snobs bad mouth Nu Finish because it has been around a long time and is CHEEP. But in reality it is one of the finest most durrable waxes on the market and always has been.

So how did you apply zaino to only get 14 weeks. I had 3 months of great protection and beading with just ZAIO on my DD. I have had 3x of Z5pro and CS on my wifes BMW since early Nov. It still beads very well and looks great. This too is a daily driven car.
sounds like he didn't prep properly so the zaino never bonded/cured correctly.
NuFinish has the benefit of not needing much prep because it has so much solvent in it, just sniff it.
As for Klasse not lasting more then 9 weeks, did you use the AIO or SG? SG should last atleast a 6 solid months.

We got heavy rain today and the water beaded up and blew right off the paint like it was applied last week. While the gloss and slickness have decreased a bit, it's clear the protection is still there. No abrasives, no harsh chemical solvents, no silicone oils, no chalky white residue staining my trim.
My truck usually sits outside 24/7 unless I need it in the garage. I'm trying to keep the interior of my 41,000 mile Q45 looking like new, just the way it is now, so it's the one that's usually out of the elements.

My vote for a good quality Wax/Sealant if duragloss is not avaliable would be.
