Best oil/grade for my situation?

02 Stratus R/T with 70,000 miles on it. This car is a short tripper, 6 miles round trip for work and driven around town on my days off. I'm currently running PP 5w30 and will be using Edge 10w30 on my next OC. Co-worker suggested because of all the short trips I might try 5w20, bad idea?

Does R/T mean 2.7?

Short Trips + Cold Climate = Fuel Dillution. I would lean more towards a less expensive oil than Edge and more frequent chanages.

R/T = 3.0

And the Edge was only $3 a quart so I couldn't resist.

If you're rarely drive longer than 20 miles trips, then thinner oil would be better.

because of the short trips, I would go with the shorter OCI's. and you're lucky its not the 2.7

Month or so ago there was $3 off Edge at AA or AZ, can't remember which. At the time Edge had already been marked down to $6

I have to figure that this is the Mitsu 3.0. You can run 5w-20 in that thing full time. Short trip ..long trip ..whatever. Maybe everything outside of twin-turbo "Stealth" mode. Dino's fine. Use a synth in the winter if you want to.
