Well I'm currently using Mobile1 regular synthetic oil 5w20 in my mustang gt and I'm wondering if I should change to Amsoil, wondering whats the weight I should use for the Amsoil and how do I know which filter fits on my car, or the part# :) Which filter or filters is the best for synthetic oil ? And which other oil brand would you recommend if any. Thanks guys, seems like theres lots of oil knowledge in this forum and the reason why I joined. :)

The Amsoil oil filter is EAO11. I tried Amoil XL 5W-20 and was happy with it. I switched from M1 and will continue to use the Amsoil in the Mustang.

Mobil 1 5W-20 is a pretty good oil. Amsoil 0W-20 ASM will flow better, and give you bit lower wear number and allow you to go longer between oil changes. Amsoil 5W-20 XLM will be in the same basic league as the M1, and closer in price. Amsoil 0w30 SSO will give you the best protection, especially in the summer.

Amsoil ASM 0W-20
Amsoil XLM 5W-20
Amsoil SSO 0W-30

The Ford Motorcraft filter is a good filter or you could use the Amsoil EAO11.

For a stock mustang GT, without any modifications to the motor, I would go with jugs of 5w20 motorcraft oil, and a motorcraft FL820s oil filter.

Take a UOA at 5k miles, and see how you are doing.

I'd highly recommend Royal Purple 5w20. It is one of the more robust 5w20 oils out there right now.

Even with motor mods that would be a solid oil and solid filter to use.
