Help me decide on oil for 2009 Mustang GT

Just picked up a new to me 2009 Mustang GT 3v 4.6L 13x,xxx miles and bone stock.
What would be a good synthetic oil for it?
Was considering Pennzoil Ultra 5w20.

Euro 30/40 if it was mine. Change the brake, trans, power steering, and diff fluid and drain the radiator. I imagine everything needs service.

Pennzoil ultra would be a fine oil, maybe bump it up to 5w30. perhaps change transmission fluid too.

Generally speaking 5w30 is built better than 10w30 these days. In essence, 10w30 is almost an obsolete viscosity now.

If mine it would be Mobil 1 5w30 or 0-40.

I don’t think you could go wrong with either Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 or Mobil 1 FS 0W-40.

With so many engines in the US using turbos and used around the world. What really makes any Euro oil different? Have we not gotten to the point where any high quality oil will meet the standards of all the manufacturers? I'm looking at the Valvoline Restore and Protect oil. Watched the video of them at the lab showing it's capabilities. Seems pretty darn amazing.

• Meets or exceeds all requirements of ILSAC GF-6A, API SP, API SN with SN PLUS, API SN, Resource Conserving, and all preceding API and ILSAC gasoline categories

my recommendations in order of highest->lowest

all recommendations also with a Premium Guard XL based filter, (Carquest Premium, Microgard select, PG XL and some others)

if going euro: Mobil 1 0w-40 and Mobil 1 ESP 0w30

if staying API: Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage 5w30, Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 and Pennzoil Ultra Platium 5w30

the Euro oils listed have to pass more stringent approvals than the API stuff does, they will provide better protection at high temperate (higher HTHS requirements in their approvals). the API lubes listed are what i ran as far as OTS oil in our fleet before moving to HPL. Never an issue out of them and subsequent runs with HPL Engine Cleaner 30 blended in didn’t ever yield a large amount of loading in the filter signifying they were running clean in a Houston based industrial contractor fleet. trucks pull heavy, idle all day then pull heavy home.

In a nutshell, they have better approvals on them and a higher HTHS for better protection when the oil temperatures get hotter. I have been running ESP 5w30 in my Corvette ever since the second oil change.
