I prefer the old middle weight bikes of the 1970's-80's. Even my first bike, a 1967 Suzuki X-6 Hustler. Yes, I'm old and I like the late 1960's cars best. If you really liked one, you parked it inside and drove your 'winter beater' as the rust was a big issue.

Maybe I'm odd too, but I don't think swapping a front fairing for a round LED headlight on an alien-erector-set-bug-bike even qualifies for "retro", but obviously some marketers think it does.

Those thighs could be mine, but I’d never wear that shirt print, and you’d never catch me dead in those shoes! The bike is good though.

I meant more the fact that they’re covering well below the ankle. I saw a few rashed ankles on shipmates while I was in the Navy. No thanks. I’ve got enough foot problems without having somebody debride my flesh with a stainless wire brush!

6” minimum foot/ankle coverage for me, and I used to have some Icon riding jeans that had Kevlar. Pair that with a vented jacket with elbow and spine/neck impact protection, a good set of motorcycle gloves, and a Shoei helmet. Not because I was incapable of riding safely, but to give me secondary protection from all the idiots in mobile cages around me. Primary safety is hyper-awareness and proper lane positioning

Same here, few are done OK, but most are not my cup of tea, including the BMW in OP.

It’s a cyclical thing, full fairing, sports bikes are on the decline and naked bikes are in. Dual sports or adventure bikes are the rage apparently

Looks are so subjective. I didn't like the look of the z900s before I bought a wrecked one and rebuilt it. It is a great ride but I didn't like the bug-like look that these Japanese seem to think is stylish. It has grown on me though.

I too have fond memories of my last bike, a Suzuki 250 Hustler. If I wasn't pushing 80, those Mutt bikes would be tempting.
