It's an older one, and is no longer in Google Play. But I love it and it works the best for me. Has tons of other features too. It was made by "That Racing Channel" on YouTube. I got it from HERE after it became unavailable from Play Store.

I use one called GPS Speedometer Premium since it was the only free ad free one because the one i used before was showing big pop up ads which is absurd. I use it for when I'm in the passenger seat and want to see the speed without looking over and making her mad. She can sometimes go near 90 but if i don't check she'll say she's just going 78 or something.

Why not just open the phones browser and do the speed test through the browser is my feeling, instead of another privacy breaking APP on a phone using resources.
But forget that above, using your phones browser you actually are testing the speed of which the phone can download and process/use the information>
So anyway, I just open my browser and do a search "speedtest" and then select one or two of the popular ones, run the test without downloading their app and I am done.

I think you misinterpreted the question. The OP is looking for an app that will display his vehicle's traveling speed using GPS technology similar to a Garmin GPS built-in speedometer feature.

I use one called Speedometer Speed Tracker GPS. You have to go through a couple ads when you first open the app, but it is otherwise free. It displays speed, top speed, average speed, altitude and distance travelled.

I use it on Apple, but I also used it on Android before I went to the dark side six or seven years ago. I can't say it is still available on Android now, though.
