I haven't tried any except for Supertech conventional 5w-30 for my Saturn. Seems to be holding up well with a (gasp!) Fram TG.

What are your favorites, or what do you think are the best?

Supertech oil, or Advance Auto Parts Oil. I have 2 OCI worth of AAP Synthetic on my shelves waiting to go in right now for my winter fill for both cars.
AAP oil filters used to be pretty good. I've used the Supertech filters many many times as well.

I'm not so big on store brand oil, but I was a big fan of the Advance Auto Parts Total Grip filters.

Now, I'll either use a Napa ProSelect or an Auto Extra filter.... which is the same Affinia (Wix) sourced filter.

If I had to buy a store brand oil, it would be NAPA, as we know that it is sourced from Valvoline.

It just seems special to use the Motorcraft filters on a Ford. I am not as oil specific as I once was. I fall to the advertising and have been trying a glutton of new oils. I will not use the oil filters with the plastic cage on the inside, Iam afraid of a chunk of filter material slipping thru. Id use a Fram first.

Formula Shell oil and Quaker State filters.

Can get both for $1.99 per quart and per filter on sale at Menards; so that's what I use. No rebates and a $10/11 OCI is cheap enough for me.

Before chopping up some questionable E-cores, I used SuperTech oil and filter's a lot.

Ive used a NAPA Gold on my truck, Mums Mechanic installed it, cut it open and it was good on the inside, well built. Looked like a Puro.

Goodyear gave me a free OC once, was a Carquest Red Filter, Reminded me of a WIX

I used Supertech my first OC I did myself, held up REALLY well, went 3500 miles on it and QSHM 10w-30

I have used some store brand oils in my life or know people who have, Dad used to use AAP Dino in his truck, still runs at 300k+ miles, GPA used to use Coastal, I have used PEAK which I dont mind, not really a store brand but in the same general monetary level, at work when people are leaking oil or burning off oil, Ill grab a bottle of Racetrac brand "Trac" oil and put it in there, we sell it for 3.99 a qt, its made by Warren. If there diesel is leaking or whatnot, I usually grab a bottle of Lubriguard, seems to work I guess.

If we are talking ALL oils, We also sell Istaca 2 Cycle Engine oil for a mere 1.99, aint bad, we use it in the leaf blower at work, I use it at home for the Chainsaw when I dont have Quicksilver 2 cycle on hand... Istaca is in a bigger bottle, and cheaper than the Gumout 2 cycle we sell, and I prefer Istaca over it....

For the chainsaw blade lube, I normally use the cheapest grimiest good for nothing motor oil I can find on the shelf, that is if the oil pan is empty, and I have no used oil to lube the chain, I have used Coastal ND 30, Peak, AAP, Shoot Ive even used that Bullseye motor oil thats like 0% all additives and detergents, lol, aint bad for basic blade grease.. Usually though its used motor oil or an almost empty bottle of oil laying around in the shed.

I'm running some Strauss Auto Stores, Full Synthetic, 5w-30, SM, GF-4 with an oversized Mobil 1 EP oil Filter.

So far....the oil runs smooth and clean. This oil was $2.22 a quart on clearance, with discount including sales tax, I have no complaints and the engine runs smooth.

As an update, on 9/25 I posted here about using AAP Synthetic for my next OCI. I changed it the next day and still have it in the sump. No issues at all. Still silky smooth and offering great protection. Used a purolator cartridge filter too. Those have the plastic cage center. Never an issue. I'd have no problem using an ecore either on my other car. That plastic cage doesn't scare me, and there are thousands of people using them unknowingly too. Have yet to hear about a problem with any of those.
