You can rent it at the parts place. I own one because I always done tons of serpentine belts lol mines a Craftsman.I would go buy that but somehow, some way, I would screw it up.
I used to have one of those! Haven't thought of it in years. Is it basically some longish and crazy shaped tool like the one to loosen a distributor?
I tried the belt wrench on my '02. There wasn't enough space. I ended up using two wrenches hooked together and it was pretty easy. There's a belt tool?
Sweet Project Cars agrees. If you've got any 303 Aerospace protectant, soak the belt in it. I've had it quieten a belt for a thousand miles or so. If you don't have it, don't buy it just for that because it's expensive.
I thought the belt on my '02 Vulcan was bad but it turned out to be the tensioner. It had worn and was sitting cockeyed.
I will only buy oem or Continental (old Goodyear) belts now unless I can't wait.
Sounds like it's time for a new belt. The Taurus has a squeaky belt. Put some soap on it last night and it was totally quiet. Now its back a little this morning.
Is there a best belt dressing, or will it always do that until a new Serpentine?
agree, they never work long term, replace the beltBelt dressings are usually a waste of time, get a new belt.
Probably so that’s what I have heard too. I usually don’t spray anything but silicone on rubber components.WD-40 would be one of the worst things to spray on it, correct?
