Just an FYI - I ordered a set of Bendix CT3 brake pads for my Toyota Tundra. Received them today and they were manufactured in China. I will use them, as I have heard too many glowing reviews for them. But I just wanted to let everyone know, as country of origin for products is an important consideration.

While some or most of the CT3 pads may still be manufactured in the USA or Canada, I don't think it is an automatic assumption anymore.

Off topic, but have you tried Akebono before? I've been highly impressed with the pads I've used from them lately.

Good to know. Which variety of Akebono pad have you used?

Unbeknownst beforehand, my most recent Raybestos and AC Delco brake hardware was sourced from China too.

Seems virtually ubiquitous and de rigueur these days with so many products.
We’ve imported ‘must perform here’ cheap and subsidized labor, and largely outsourced much of the remaining manufacturing sector.

The Raybestos set, however, has since been recalled.

Was the box for the pads marked "made in China" or just the hardware kit in the box?

The set of CT-3 pads I purchased were made in Canada, but the included hardware kit had its own COO markings indicating that the hardware was made in China.

It said made in China on the box where it has Honeywell's contact info.

Unfortunately another good company gone bad. Seriously the US or Canadian origin ones were fantastic, the new ones are not much better than cheap India made stuff from AA or AZ.
When i did the big brake conversion on my car i ordered CT-3 and they were Chinese, the car stopped worse than before.
No more feeling like someone just threw a boat anchor out the back. I sourced a set of USA made ones and it stopped better than with original calipers like its supposed to.

I bought enough sets to keeps my cars in brakes for as long as i will live or keep the cars whichever comes first.
I got them from Fleet Pride when they were blowing them out last year at less than $20 a set, all US or Canada made.
There are probably 10 more sets of each in the garage, if i don't use them and get rid of the cars i will just ebay them. Camero front pads should still be in demand.

Trav, I haven't heard anything bad about made in India Wearever products. I have a set of Platinum ceramics made in India going on my Buick next, they look really well made from visual inspection and packaging.

Do you know something else that I don't?

No. Don't misunderstand me they stop the car fairly well but this car has big brakes the and is built to stop quickly not for just for show.
The GG rated CT-3 US pads did a better much better job than their Chinese replacements.
I have tried Akebono and dint care for the noise, personal preference.

Many of he Wearever ones are poorly rated EE, if you get FF you are lucky. These dont compare in stopping power of a GG rated pad. HH are the only pads with more stopping power but they cost a fortune and require special carbon rotors.
For those not familiar with pad codes here they are. The code will be on the adge of the friction material.

Looks like my Wearever Platinum's are made in India and FF, but the markings are only on the back plate, not on the pads or metal like i have seen others.

Last time I got some Wearever Platinum pads, they were made in India. I bought them in 2012, and they were for a 2007 Pontiac G6.

Ever use AEM/Nissin brand brake pads? They are all made in Japan, but unfortunately, they only make them for Hondas.
