Any of you ever watch this show? I discovered it on Spike Network a few weeks ago and I love it. That Jon Taffer guy is really cool, and smart. He's good at transforming bar/restaurants from failing businesses into thriving ones. He gets some resistance at times but if they want to thrive they will follow his instructions. He also brings in many professionals to help with cooking, menus, bartending, etc. Great show IMHO. They often re design the whole place, menu, kitchen, and employee's attitudes.

I used to deliver products to restaurants and bars for a living and I kind of miss going into these type of businesses like I used to.

I've never seen or heard of that show. I don't drink Alcohol but I do enjoy old bars.

Especially the ones out in the desert with dirt bikes and horses tied up in front. They always have the best tasting food. Always something different.

Watched it last night. That was really cool, seeing how he made such an impact. When the owner wanted to listen, that is!

Having worked in a mom-n-pop pizza joint before, it was interesting to see what really happens behind the manager's office door.

There often seems to be live music involved in the bar's resurrection. That's a different animal.

Unlike the show on Bravo about Hair Salons' rescues, they don't revisit months later to see how things shook out long term.

I've heard of Gordon Ramsey's show but I got the feeling that was a British TV show and I prefer to watch shows made on my own turf

if possible.

He sure stirs things up in these places - gets in there and sometimes recommends firing certain people, or at least getting the sluggish one them to stay out of there, unless they're willing to really roll up their sleeves and do some real work.

didn't watch the bar rescue show, but I DID watch restaurant:impossible last night, that was pretty cool.
I really don't enjoy watching shows w/ lots of bleeps; I actually find the sound they use to censor the dialogue quite irritating. so I can't watch gordon ramsay's stuff either.

That guy seriously has the most foul mouth in history. I'll admit - when I get mad, dirty words come out of my mouth and I'm ashamed of it, but that guy probably said the F-word more times last week then I have in my entire life!

Love Ramsey's show and this show has the same format and often the same fixes but it's OK. Restaurant Impossible is cool but it's just Irvine's version of Ramsey's show.

This show seemed so cool at first but after I watched about 8 shows, every one seems the same now.
