Hotrat,you really want to make sure the other side is working....if it isn't your new air inlet filter (cannister) is going to eventually end up like the old one and you will again be oiling your air filter housing.One of the disadvantages to running the PCV System in reverse with other side shut down is you will contaminate your oil a lot faster and with the right set of circumstances start the process of sludging. You may want to check your new cannister verses the old there was a little more variation on their filter packing from the factory than is commonly known - some of the generics don't match up well.One other thing. There is a baffle area under the PCV valve - sometimes that will clog up as well.Typically right about now you may want to check your heat riser valve operation,the carbon cannister filter and the egr valve if so equiped.
