To set the record straight, I paid $21000 for my brand new Prius back in 2010. Lifetime MPG=52 (lots of city driving).

Nice! The lowest a dealer around me would go was well above that. It made the Cruze a much more attractive buy for me.

Also, I was comparing 2011 and 2012 cars with similar options. A 2010 did not make the cut, as it would have meant getting a used car.

Another nice import choice by GM.

My guess though MPG will not drive buyers to this car. It likely will do slightly better than a compact - efficient mid size car.

Just the car buyers on a limited budget.

That car looks a LOT like a Honda Fit. Perhaps an Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport cross-market here?

Also, will they market this as a Suzuki! The Swift is still around.. brought back from the dead like a Fiesta, which looks sharp...

I was thinking the same thing.

Vehicles like the Dodge Omni and Chevy Chevette (to name a few) were no picnic to drive in many situations, yet there were tons of them on the roads back in the day.

I think it's great to have something like the Spark in the econo-car offering. It's just a shame that a few short years ago you could buy something along the lines of a Cobalt for $14K total out the door cost.
