Got back last night after a long days drive. I drove all the way, wife snozzed while I crused. Had a good trip, but saw a little frost two mornings. 96 Merc GM ran good, except I;ve got a bearing in the rear end getting noisey. Mech. looking at it tomorrow. Engine ran great,209,000 miles, and the M1 5-30 is still very clean with 5000 miles on the oil. Good to be home.

Glad you had a good trip. I have one of those snoozing wives myself. Goes to sleep as soon as I hit the highway and wakes up in time for a pit stop or something to eat. If the weather does not get better here soon, I might have to make another trip down south.

If you want good weather in Florida, right now until the end of April is best.
It not only starts to get hot and humid in May, but also May (and September) is Love Bug Season, and they plaster all over the front of your car and radiator. Cars are Love Bugs only enemy.

Sounds like the polar opposites of my parents. They are retired, and used to drive down to Florida a couple times a year when my brother lived there. If Dad was driving, Mom would be bolt upright awake and watching the road, the signs, the map, etc. Then, they'd stop for lunch, and switch drivers.... Dad would be out like a light, leaving mom to fight off post-eating drowsiness and the glare of the afternoon sun. It always sounded like SUCH a great system!

I hate driving in the Orlando area cause theres so many tourists hogging the road driving 50 MPH in the left lane, then just as they are about to pass their exit, they cut across 4 lanes of traffic.
