I'm going to go through the brakes on the avalanche ( 03) and replace pads, fresh fluid , possible rotors depending on how they look. Even though its a 1500, it weights around 5500lbs, and i tow a 5000lb travel trailer with it. I'm thinking of going with Hawk super duty brake pads, as the factory pads don't seem that great. Anyone have any experience using the hawk super duty?
Thanks.

EBC is what I have on my car. They are excellent now but squealed under light braking for the first 800 miles or so and for the first 1,000 miles produced a huge amount of brake dust. Now everything is 100% fine with them.

Pads make little difference in the overall stopping distance - tires and ride control have a greater impact.

The factory pads are likely glazed from lots of usage; I'm sure you'll find that a new set of factory pads will deliver improved performance.

As you are probably aware, there is a difference between GM OE pads and ACDelco service-replacement ceramic pads.
