Audi RS7 Track Day

I'd just run the M1 0W-40. That's what I run in my cars on track. I'd definitely scour the web for other folks with that car who have taken it to the track to see if they've learned anything about weak spots that might be good to know about.

Ferrari has two GTL Shell Helix Ultra certified oils, the 5W-40 for street use and the 10W-60 for racing / track use.

BTW Castrol Edge 10W-60 is SN and A3/B4 and has a HTHS of 5.1 cP plus a TBN of 11.2, I lived off this stuff for 10 years, but I have calmed down now and run a 10w30, but if I had a RS7 and a Track day then I would consider it again.

Is there an actual Ferrari spec? I thought it was just a marketing arrangement.

No idea, but to me if all a Ferrari needs an xx-40 A3/B4 Euro oil, that is proof that it's a stout oil.

Pennzoil Euro is just Shell Helix Ultra with a Pennzoil logo on it you knowmthat right

As a speed shop owner we have serviced a few RS7 and they always get Royal Purple XPR 5w30. In our opinion it is the best racing oil out there. Also one of the most expensive at over $16/quart

Fire is hot too. I'm not getting your point.

Went ahead and changed the oil over to Castrol 10w60...motor sure is quiet. Seems like my car club buddies that run mostly M3s,M5s S4s, and a few turbo 911's all use 10w60 on the track....we'll see how it performs

TWS will do great. It is a Castrol that truly deserves its gold bottle.

Post some pictures next time you hit the track!

Good choice, have fun

I'd recommend a little more attention to your brake system.... well, goes without saying. Flush and bleed with a quality DOT 4 hi dry/wet fluid. I used ATE SuperBlue or TYP200 (for the money), but Motul RBF660 or 600 are good as well.

Besides tires, which held up well IME (intermediate grp)... brakes were the first thing to go once you pick up speed. I was quickly switching to more track-orientated pads (with a trackday or two).

+1

I might also offer for consideration Motul Xmax or, alternatively, 300V in whatever weight you decide on. Increased esters might be appreciated by the center bearings. Just a thought. Have fun with that awesome car and good onya for tracking it!

Redline 15w50 would have been my choice. The 10w60 will probably shear down to a 50 during the track day anyway.

Is this your first track day ever? If so, fresh, high temperature brake fluid is important. I've been using Motul RBF600 for 15 years or so, and have never had a problem with fluid boiling. Even when running in ambient temperatures up to 107F.
