The air filter concern from everyone is appreciated, but I don’t need to hear a broken record on ditch the K&N. And I will do a 10k run with a paper media filter and oil free dry synthetic media filter and compare the results.
I have looked over the UOA mentioned. A Chrysler 5.7L HEMI engine vs. a Toyota 2.4L engine are designed different with different tolerances and will wear different. Ones driving conditions, style, etc also makes a difference. There is no simple comparison to how it will look on my vehicle using Pennzoil.
I have nothing against Pennzoil, Castrol, Valvoline, etc. They are just brands I choose not to buy or use, and not many oil companies make 0W/20 or 0W/30 oil.
I use Moutl products on more than just my Scion. They make an excellent product and are my preferred brand. The main reason it cost more is it’s imported.
I decided to give Amsoil a try and have been pleased with their 0W/20 and 0W/30 oil for 10k runs, and have used their universal synthetic aft for power steering fluid and have been pleased with one year service intervals.
It would be nice to see others with Scion tC's post UOA's at 5k & 10k runs and compare their results.
