ARX working great!

I'm about 1000 miles into the rinse phase with Valvoline 5w30.

This is a 1996 Corsica 4 cyl. 2.2 liter that lost the original motor to cam lobe failure and we installed a junk yard motor.

The junkyard motor wasn't bad, but a bit sluggish and some ticking noise.

I ran LC20/FP60 and Mobil 7500 5w30 and things improved. But it was time for the ARX treatment, and it worked.

Power output and driveability is the best the car has ever had, and there is no ticking noise....just a smooth running engine.

One more oil filter change, 1000 miles more, and then I'll switch to Mobil 1 EP 5w30 at 7.5K OCI.

ARX likely did some good deep ring pack cleansing. Based on your previous history with this motor, do you think 7500 mile OCI is too long?

I think 7500 mile OCI should be fine. The Mobil 1 oil should hold up.

Are you going to run any ARX in the maintenance mode?

Maybe, I was think of running LC20 but maybe I'll do the ARX maintenance mode.
