Are you driving the same car since 2010

This question is fun! I used to be a guy who got attached to my cars and tried to keep them forever. Rust makes that tough in IA, but I’d try.

Then the family one owner Cuda was sold and it seemed a switch was flipped. We have the mix of cars that fit us now, but it took a couple buy and sells to get there. I have no intention of changing cars anytime soon (I pay cash for cars, or used to when prices weren’t crazy) but I still car shop in the same way my wife watches the houses on the market.

Looking at prices makes me love what I have! Plus, the new car feel wears off quickly, but the payment doesn’t.

If 03/11 is close enough, then yes. Bought the Mazda 6 with 143 miles on it and it now has 166k on it.

Crashed the car I was driving in 2010. Have my current car since 2013, biggest job I did on that (and most expensive) was a $40 rear wheel bearing, which took less time to change than it did to jack up the car. Probably could've gone with the $25 bearing but it wasn't clear it had a dustcap and nut included.

It's our only car aswell, the wife doesn't drive despite my best efforts to teach her. She had a talent for manuals and clutches aswell but traffic is a bit too much, she'd rather bike and use public transport.

Took the car to the nurburgring and across Europe, this june I'm going to Mille Miglia, Lago Maggiore and the Alps in general

Yep, 2008 RAV4 Limited V-6 bought new, just under 35,000 miles. This grocery getter with the 3.5l V-6 still rocks! Having owned 40+ cars in my lifetime this is the last one providing it doesn't get wrecked or have a catastrophic mechanical failure of some kind.

I'm still driving two cars that I owned prior to 2010. One is a '97 Ford Escort wagon bought new in Feb. '98 the other is an '02 Ford Escort sedan that I bought for my teenage son to use around the middle of '08. My last car purchase was in Feb. 2019 when I bought a '16 Nissan Versa with a rebuilt title and 10K miles for $5300.

Same here. My wife's biggest problem is she doesn't want to listen to someone who's been driving 45+ years. I'll admit I sometimes make mistakes when driving but I think all those years and miles behind the wheel earns me the right to give her a few pointers.

Yes and no. Have my Porsche for almost exactly 20 years. Wouldn't have
purchased it for the prices they go for today. Both dailies are younger as
stated in sig. Second longest ownership has been my wife's former Golf
TDI with 15 years and it still ran fine. No major repairs on any of the cars.

Thread from April, 2018. Can we amend this thread to: Are you driving the same car since 2014?
Or do we look at the start of the decade as a unit of measure? 2010, 2020...

Still driving my 4x4 3.0L 5 speed Ranger, and my 1959 Ford Galaxie 4 speed. So 2014 or 2010 makes no difference to me
