my 00 accord v6 I can't go anything more than 3k ish as the blowby and fuel dilution kills even the best syn.
plus the stealership stripped the drain plug
so my oci looks like:
change oil filter at dealer valvoline ~ use marine pump and change oil only at 3k twice

That sux. How many miles are on it and how did you break it in?

My sentiments exactly. If it weren't for my sludger Sienna engine, I'd be a 12-15k'r.

I think I can also add a '76 Subaru DL to this list. In the late 70's me and my mom would drive from Fayetteville AR to Oklahoma City to see the grandparents. After arriving, my grandpa would invariably say "let's go chk your oil". On one occassion there was one small drop on the end of the dipstick. On another occassion it was bone dry. When the end came, the mechanic said "you've got trouble, the compression is actually way better than it should be" - I guess it had sludge for rings by that pt.

I used to in some of my used vehicles. I ran one to 15,400+ miles with Royal Purple 10W-30. New vehicles under warranty I only go to 5K even with synthetic.

Have been doing 5K OCI's on Havoline Dino. The next OCI with FAR QS Horsepower or Valvoline Synpower. Did not feel comfy doing 10K on Dino, but will give it a whirl next OCI. Which would you use first? Will be mid May when it is time to change. Both are 5W-30.

this is my first 10k oci interval on my 06 vibe. since 7/07, I'm at 8k miles. Can't wait to get to 10k and be part of the 10k oci club. using mobil 1

12K+ on both our Chrysler 300Ms with Mobil 1 5W/30 & PP 5W/30. Cheaper route with PP. Both with positive UOAs.

Though at an estimated 6K I am pulling the oil filter and toping off with approx. 1/2 qt.

I ran GC 6mo/11k in my Audi V6 30v a few times. I was paying for dealer changes at the time, which were $10 for ~me~ so I just let it go that long.

I go One year intervals. For me It's about 12,000-13,500 on both car and suv. Car 01 camaro 3.8L Amsoil tso 0w30,Amsoil filter. Truck 96 GMC 4.3 L Amsoil asl 5w30 and Amsoil filter.

I'm running 12-13 month ocis with M1 EP and an M1 filter. I've managed my miles down to 6-7k per year.

On both Subarus 06WRX(mine) 04 2.5RS(wife's). I have used Amsoil's ASL 5w30 to 20,000 ounce and have been using the TSO to 15,000 in hers since 1,000 and now have 118,000 on it and it really seems to like the new SSO. On my 06 WRX I have used the TSO since 1,000 miles for 15,000 OCIs now with 69,XXX miles. I just switched to the SSO and have will probably keep the OCI at 10,000 miles to make it easy to keep track of. When I had my 03 Honda Civic SI I took the TSO to 35,000 mile OCI and had an UOA by CAT and was told that I could have ran the oil longer except they were unsure of the high levels of Silicon. I had a K&N air filter at the time which probably had a lot to do with the silicon levels....

On my 2004 Toyota Prius I changed at 5k for the first 50k and then did a 15k oci on Mobil 1 0w20 to 65k. I then switched to RLI 0w20 for 15.7k with a 1 quart refresh at 10k (pulled some oil from the dipstick using an oil changer I purchased for my jetboat, which has no oil drain plug). I am running the RLI 0w20 currently and plan to sample at 10k and if its looking good maybe take it out to 20k, 15k minimum. Each long oci was about a 7 to 8 month interval, I drive 20-22k per year.

yup, i too am a member... although by accident, lol. ran Castrol Syntec 5W-30 in my mom's 2000 Mercury Cougar 2.5 V6 for 13,000 miles (with a NAPA gold filter). needless to say, there's a bunch of people on the forums here who are dying to see a UOA. i took a sample and set it aside. waiting on the blackstone kit to arrive so i can send the sample in. should be interesting.

i think i will be sticking with 10K OCI's on her car from now on. currently has PP 5W-30 in it. very smooth!

I have done it once on my 2k3 Durango 4.7 liter. I used PP 5w-30. Afetr the 10K I was so nervous that I changed it out. It was very dark as expected but the truck still ran good. I am trying to use up my Castrol now so I can re-establish my oil hoarding ways. There is just something about oil shopping that...
Anyway, I am using a mixture of 4 qts. GTX 5w30 and 2 qts. SYNTEC 5w-30. I am doing 5k oci's now. All bought at Wally's prices. I got the GTX awhile ago for $9.00 a 5qt. jug!! What do you all think of a 10k oci on this mixture? Oh, I am using up my stash of filters as well, Amsoil SDF-15. When they are gone I will get the EaO filters.

I am working on becoming a 10k OCI member with both of my vehicles. I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5 that currently has Amsoil SSO 0w30 in it. My 2001 Toyota RAV4 has Amsoil ATM 10w30 in it right now, and will be switching over to SSO in the next OCI. I plan on doing 10K OCI's in both vehicles with the SSO.

Been doing 9mths to 2 yrs for a number of years depending on warranty, age of vehicle and miles on vehicle. My Dad did 27k by accident on his battle wagon.

I have had a few UOAs done at times. I run Amsoil oils. ASE, ASL, ASM, ASE among others. I will be trying SSO.
