Are MVNO'S the same

Been with Cricket for years and never had an issue. Plenty fast for my needs and actually coverage in my area has been great.

Only negative.... they (ATT) decided my three year old phone wasn't "good enough" for their network anymore. I had to get a new phone.

Long story...but I call B.S. on them and the phone meets ALL their specs etc. 4G, VoLTE, etc. In fact, until I removed my Sim Card, everything worked fine.

BTW... this new 5G tech is BS... Mostly B.S. marketing as it's "fake" tech at this point when the infrastructure isn't there yet. Nothing wrong with 4G at all!!

Tried Mint Mobile and had terrible coverage with T-Mobile service. Caved-in an bought a new phone, went back to Cricket.

Still have my "old" phone which is wonderful but now looking for options. May try Red Pocket or U.S. Mobile.

All carriers have gone to volte networks. They have gave ample time for upgrades. Believe me I’m mad also I lost the use of my iPhone 4s.
It's just funny how my phone was working perfectly "until" I removed the Sim card and then reinserted it. This, and the fact that it works on other carriers.

I recently read carriers monitor when you remove your sim and use a different phone “sometimes” if done frequently they think something fraudulent is happening. 🤪 crazy stuff. But maybe also a safety since there is sim hijacking going on so it could be to our benefit also.

Good to know. My only reason for removing the Sim card was that I was given a work phone to use. I used it for a few days and decided to keep my previous phone and that's when the craziness started. I often wonder if "anything" would have happened at all.... if that wasn't done. ??

Ur phone probably would have continued to work until att shuts down the 3g edge network sometime in December or early 22’. By u removing the sim gave them the fuel to decommission your device. Red pocket refused to reactivate my 4s iPhone on sprint 3g network a month after it was turned off. And at the time sprint was still being advertised on the red pocket site.

Yup...No doubt. Sorry to hear about your iPhone also. Not sure if the 4s was only 3g, but I know my OnePlus 5 is 4g capable. It's BS as we both know.

Do you have voicemail thru RP ?
Yes both audio voicemail and visual voicemail on my iPhone with Redpocket ATT service at no cost.
Not all Redpocket services have visual voicemail for free but Redpocket ATT and iPhone is free.
Regular voicemail is free for everyone but some services are $1 extra a month if you want visual voicemail in addition to the free regular voicemail.

I'm on red pocket with AT&T and an Android phone. I pay a dollar a month for visual voicemail. My wife is on red pocket with an Android on T-Mobile, she is not eligible for visual voicemail.
We both also have regular voicemail which does not cost any extra money.

I finally got my number ported over. Tracfones fault......took way longer than it should have. I Haven't talked to anyone yet but I made a few calls to different companys that have automated operators and the call quality is good. I got the $8.25 annual Verizon plan but should have got the monthly plan to see if Verizon with Redpocket was any better than it was with Tracfone. Can I can switch over to AT&T if I'm not happy with Verizon or do I have to wait for the annual plan to expire ? Also do they alert you when your annual plan is about to expire ? I'll give a review after month. Thanks Guys
Here's my review. So far so good. Call quality is great....service never shut off. For $8.25 a month I can't complain. It's supposed to reduce your internet speed to 2G after the 1 GB is used up for the month but I had no internet. Not a big deal since I get WIFI at work and at home.

With my simple mobile “T-Mobile” network sim in the 4s it would periodically blip on the screen 4G probably not true 4G but 3G commissioned in the network to read as 4G. Then phone would lock that it was carrier locked to sprint.

interesting reading + in the end we all want or need different services depending on $$$$! i thank this forum for mentioning AirVoice some time ago + being thrifty + a very light user it suits ME best! $10 for 90 days of service @ .10 a minute to call with data available on an as used cost @ .0666 per MB. if recharged before expiring time left rolls over. i would have stayed on ATT go-phone $8.25 monthly BUT no data-pics on that plan!

If you are losing your Internet entirely after the 1gb of data has been used-up, I would fuss at Redpocket if I were you. If they don't know that Verizon is doing this to their customers they can't do anything about it.
