I have this battery on the lawn tractor we use on the community ball diamond. If I need to replace it, are there any other brands the Bitigogers would suggest? Right now I’m topping up the charge and will store it in the warmth for the winter.

I purchased one once.
It lasted a year.
After that, I learned my lesson.
I buy these batteries based on price and treat them as a consumable.
Your best bet is Walmart, Rural King or a farm store.
It will not have the pricey label on it, but it will last as long or longer.

Whatever battery you get just get a "Sealed" type. Not one with removable caps on them. In my experience the sealed type will hold in the acid longer & consequently extending battery life. Also, Get a cheap HF tender on it each time you're done mowing & you will extend it's life quite a bit.

My D140 came with a JD branded 195 CCA battery in 2015. At the start of the 2019 mowing season that battery was so weak that I could jump start it but it wouldn't engage the PTO clutch. I replaced that with the Walmart brand 230 CCA U1 battery with a date code of 3/19 in April 2019 at a cost of 29 USD. That battery now needs a few minutes on the charger before it can start the unit but it has no trouble whatsoever engaging the PTO. I plan to replace it in the spring.

I have been using the U1 (I think) interstate from Costco for about 3 years to replace the diehard battery I bought when sears was still a business. The die hard replaced the OEM deere battery that lasted about 2 years on my zero turn. I do not trickle charge my mower batteries. I just start and run it for a few minutes every few weeks in the off season.

Costco new battery warranty program sucks compared to their old one and (I'm assuming) WM everstart battery warranty. Costco is more convenient to me than WM.

I've also been quite happy with Walmart Ever start on my JD 425. It's something like 4 years old. It went dead over the winter because I didn't keep a battery tender on it but once jumped it's never missed a beat.

Deere batteries are West Penn manufactured. From what I've read, West Penn is one of the best/last US manufactured batteries.

If ya'll think lawn mower batteries are expensive: try purchasing two 1000+ CCA batteries for a combine @ $350+ each!

Agree with West Penn Manufactured batteries being a good choice.

I usually purchase the 350 CCA U1 Lawn and Garden Battery that are manufactured by West Penn. They are a truly maintenance free = no removable cap(s) to add water. Additional benefit with a true maintenance free design is the vent system seems to not off-gas corrosive vapor leading to no terminal corrosion.

Have been purchasing West Penn battery sold under the Duracell Brand BCI Group U1 Lawn and Garden Battery sold at Sams Club. Currently $42.99 US. Don't know if they have Sams Clubs in Canada or not. We have 4 in use from mowers to generators and they seem to hold up 5 or more years. One we changed this year on a Cub Cadet was over 10 years old. We do hook them up to Battery Tenders during the off season (Generator is on Battery Tender 100 percent of time)

Nothing wrong with the Deere batteries, but I wouldn't pay more for them than a comparable one.

There is nothing wrong with them.
They are manufactured by one of the major manufacturers.
The only difference is the sticker that is affixed to it.
The fact that it is green and has a cute deer on it should not justify a 3x delta over that same battery @WM.
At least, it doesn't in my mind and wallet.
They aren't remarkable at all.
