Are Champ filters decent?

Champ Filter Wife has a 2012 Equinox (2.4L GM Ecotec engine) and these are a decent price. At least they're American made. ACDelco PF457G equivalent almost double the price, even at Wally's. Thanks for helping me out.

I've been using STP 2870A which is Auto Zone's store brand Champion filter for yrs, not a bit of trouble

Champ Labs also makes, K&N and Mobil1 filters, as well as Valvoline, to name a few.

And Royal Purple , and several OEMs....including AC Delco. The Champ filter is probably the same filter as the AC Delco, or nearly identical anyway.

Yup, Champ filters were always just Champion Labs filters. I've bought a lot of them in the past and they always worked fine, including E-core models. I don't know if it's changed now that Champ Labs and Fram were purchased by the Rank Group and combined into Fram Filtration.

The last I knew Purolator makes the Valvoline filters and champ labs used to make them.

All of the AC PF457G oil filters that I have used were made by Hengst, not Champ.

I have not seen good results with PF457G style filters of that construction. See on the cap folds over the media?
