Are Bosch filters affected by the tearing issues?

Seeing as the filter tearing problems of the Purolator line of filters are a hot topic these days on BITOG, I am wondering if the Bosch Premium line of filters are affected as well? I did not see any report of these filters tearing. However, I couldve sworn that Bosch Premium is essentially the same as the Purolator PureOne.

I have a stash of Bosch Premium filters for the family vehicles that I service, and was tempted to buy more as Walmart is clearing them out for $5 each (Canada).

Anyone have more info?

Bosch Premiums, including the ones in the new look packaging, are rebadged PureONE's.

- the Silicone base gasket, which oddly is present on the new look boxes, but is absent from the filter.

The topic isn't very hot anymore like it was 2~3 months ago.

Yes, there have been some Bosch filters reported with tears. See the link in the first post of this thread.

I have stash of P1 (14610's) for 2010 Armada which can be rough on oil. I run 7-8k OCI and I've cut open 2 so far with no tears. Worst I can say was the one about 8k had some wave in the pleats. Otherwise performed as advertised.

Friday night I cut open a P white can from the Camry at 7k miles. Looked great as well. But the 2.2 4cyl is pretty easy on oil and filter.

Maybe it would depend when and where you bought your stash from??
