Anyone still use bar soap?

Yes, my own homemade lye soap, just like my grandmother used to make. Started making it a few years ago. My wife made fun of me and refused to use it. She ran out of her fancy soap one day and had to use some of mine. Now she won't use anything else. It's very simple to make: lard, coconut oil, lye (sodium hydroxide) and water.

There are a couple of truisms in my life:

1. I'm a bar soap kind of person. None of that beauty bar or glycerin crap, and

2. No one touches my feet, except for me and the coroner.

Everything else is negotiable.

Seems like all the brands are adding some type of lube. I hate it. All I can find without oil is ivory

This is my beef. Irish spring, Coast, and Zest all seemed to have changed their formulas over the years to add aloe or lotion or some kind of moisturizer to them. Now instead of feeling "Zest fully clean" after a shower, they leave you feeling oily and gross and they leave your shower covered in soap scum. Not sure what you're saying about Ivory, I think it's made out of animal fat and is one of the oiliest and soap-scummiest of all.

Because of the change to all of my old favorites now being oilier than I remember, I have reluctantly been trying out some body washes. I currently kind of like "Old Spice Swagger". It seems to be more detergent based with less moisturizer than others.
