Anyone still a fan of Valvoline Maxlife. Anyone have it do anything special for them like slow a leak or turn a great UOA? And by the way I used my first run of it today and liked that it had a seal under the cap that was easy to removable with three nice tabs to help out along the rim. I know it's not a big deal but some post recently where a guy got some oil from Walmart that was used and returned made me feel good about the seal being there. Anyway hope everyone had a good Christmas and thanks for the feedback ahead of time.

Sure enough!
Maxlife slowed the leaks in my leaky old BMW to almost nothing and yielded a very clean UOA that I posted some years back.
Maxlife delivers WRT slowing leaks as well as slowing wear.
Good oil at a decently cheap price.
Of course, I used FAR Nextgen Maxlife and I still have a couple of jugs of that left.

Is there something we are supposed to be a fan of instead?

I have used the Maxlife full synthetic 5w-30 on my last few oil changes and I have been quite pleased by it. I had no leaks but since the cars were several years old with high milage I decided to use it. Prior to his I was taking my cars to a quick lube place and they were just using a standard Synthetic blend. Maxlife, Pennzoil High Milage, Quaker State High Milage and Mobil 1 High Milage are all great so any of those will be good choices. It might help with slowing the leak if that is your problem but best to get the leak fixed as the oil is just a temporary band aid. Good Luck.

Just that so many people love pennzoil around here. Nothing wrong with that just hadn't heard much of the ol Maxlife lately.

Maxlife is good stuff....the forum has different flavors but theres nothing wrong with valvoline period!

VML removed all the varnish when I first got the car.

Did two 1700 mile OCIs back to back and then the engine was spotless.

I don't think anyone loves PYB or any oil for that matter. People go by VOA's and add packs and the "flavor of the month". I have some ancient SL MaxLife and some NextGen MaxLife 10w40 and 5w20

I had good luck on my last OCI with just plan Jane VWB. No Max Life. The 4-5 OCI's before that were all done Formula Shell Synthetic...with 1 qt or more of usage in 4K miles. This last run VWB had at most 4-6 oz. So my car seems to like the Valvoline. If the usage continued I may have tried the Max Life instead.

I'm about 700 miles to my next oil change on the Fusion, putting around 5K on my first run of MaxLife. I'll be replacing with MaxLife again. Engine idle noise is noticeably less "clackity" compared to when I used Mobil 1 & Pennz. Platinum.

My next OCI will be 3 quarts MaxLife full syn 5W-30 & 3 quarts MaxLife Synthetic Blend 5W-20.

Maxlife is great! I have used a lot of it and will continue to use it among others. The Sebring has been on Maxlife for years, when the top was off it was clean despite the high miles.

Lots of great looking UOAs on here too.

Shell,Havoline,Valvoline,t6,Penzsoil,Gulf,and more, oh yes, I have used Maxlife, all great oils, and many more oils I cannot remember, and all never blew an engine, so--driving since 1962.

Way down upon the Swannee River...

Same here, since 1962 ... Wish we had Maxlife back in the day. many of my poor youth cars could have certainly benefited from it

I have couple of jugs ready to go in the Wife's Jag (straight six) next time around

It has 188,000 - so that's the right choice as far as I can tell

Yes the seal under the cap is a great idea i wish Pennzoil would do that because a lot of people know Pennzoil Jugs leak and even the manager in Wal Mart says he don't put a lot of the Pennzoil on the shelves because they are sick of cleaning up oil that spills out and i don't blame them.
Anyway that is one of the reasons i use the Max Life ATF because they have the best sealing containers with 2 safeguards, they use the seal under the cap which comes off very well and the plastic break away caps. The other reason why i use the Max Life ATF is because it is great stuff!.

We love ML for high mileage vehicles. Just put it into my son's 200k mile Yukon. Made it quiet as a mouse and slowed the usage a lot almost immediately.

Typically we end up using it in anything with noises, it is a great product...

MaxLife Blend(Red Bottle) - It's worked well for me and a few of my buddies. It's slowed RMS leaks in old high mileage beaters. The UOAs of MaxLife that I've seen have all been positive. Good product at a fair price.

This forum seems to have it's darlings, and there are some folks that spend their time chasing whatever oil is the darling of the week. It's really rather funny to watch a couple folks fawn over something mundane as motor oil, and then a number of BITOG posters rush out and stockpile it. If it hasn't been a BITOG darling yet, it will be eventually.
