Anyone here brand loyal?

Me too! My first car was a 1977 Ford Escort Ghia with the Pinto 2 litre...it happily leaked that GTX everywhere I parked! Dad used GTX, so I did too. These days I couldn't care less, but dear old dad is still loyal to Castrol, his Corolla uses nothing but Edge 5w30

I mostly use Valvoline products when I buy oil or other fluids, but I have no issue using a different brand if there is a noticeable price difference for similar quality.

I have used Pennzoil for many years and never really had issues with that oil except for some leaky jugs.. When I had the shop it was usually Conoco and sometimes gulf and Canadian something or another.
Today oils are pretty close to one another and I shop for quality and price. For high mileage I like Pennzoil but I got a great deal on max life so I will be trying that for the next few summer oil changes I liked the idea of a more secure oil container with the inner seal.

I've been using nothing but Amsoil for about the last 20 years until very recently. Do I think Amsoil is the best, period? Nope. I just liked their product selection, I liked the extended drain interval that was not common thing when I first started using Amsoil, and I really liked being able to order it and it arrived on my doorstep, even in the pre-internet days.

The quality of everything has improved so much now and all the major oil producers make excellent synthetic products. I'm using conventional Rotella T to break in a rebuilt engine in my Dodge Cummins, and I bought 3 jugs of Mobil 1 5W-30 just today on a good sale at Canadian Tire. I'll be buying a pail of Pinnacle Agri-Pro tractor hydraulic fluid soon.

So I won't call myself brand loyal any more, but I still love being able to order Amsoil online in my jammies at midnight and it arrives on my doorstep.

I am not brand loyal, but I do tend to continue to use specific products that have worked well for me. I use Mobil 1 in 0W/30 AFE and 5W/30 in my cars and trucks. I use 15W/50 Mobil 1 in one of my motorcycles, and I use Delo 5W40 or Rotella T6 interchangeably in the other.

I have found Redline gear lubes to be superior, especially in manual gearboxes. Redline products are all very good, but do not pass the cost/benefit test for me, except for things I need to shift.

Man, that commercial was ALWAYS on TV wasn't it!

I can't explain it but I've tried Castrol in 3 past cars I owned and it smoked in everyone of them. There was one that it wouldn't hold the lifters up at an idle. These were not worn-out engines just your average V8 passenger cars. It used to be on sale quite often and that's why I tried it. A change of oil & filter to Valvoline returned everything back to normal. I've been burned once with a major brand. Remember Shell's "Fire & Ice"? I used it in a new engine after the break-in oil was drained and had 3 rod bearings come apart. Replaced the bearing set, filled with Valvoline 10w-40 and drove that engine for eight years. I've quit experimenting and sided with Valvoline for my oil needs.

Yes. Partly because I'm too "scared" to try new oils because I feel like my 4.0s are going to blow up LOL.

I always get Pennzoil and that's it. My 2 WJ's (both 4.0s) get PHM or PYB, the Ford Fx4 Lariat gets PYB and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets PP.

I am loyal to PYB/ PHM in my Jeep, but that pretty much sums it up.

Anything A3/B4 for the Euro's and I am set. I prefer finding clearance, but M1 0w40 seems to be the next readily available option. Plus they have their rebate now!

Shell (Penn in USA) or Liqui Moly Synthoil.

Castrol are no good unless it says made in Germany on the can (Edge 0w30), OR Mobil 1, IF they reduce their prices to a more realistic figure in Fleabay.

5w40 Acea A3/B4 addict and Blackstone Lab regular!

If anything I'm loyal to M1. Early on when I started buying cars M1 was used. I haven't owned cars in a while because of company lease cars. About a year ago I bought an 04 F150. Initially meant to use all motorcraft fluids, but Mobil 1 has crept back in (currently in engine and rear diff).

Recently Napa had Pennzoil syn on sale so some of that made it into the garage.

So maybe not brand loyal but a strong attraction to M1.
