I'm only 36 years old but after seeing my doc last week I've been depressed ever since. Currently waiting to get into a dermatologist to get biopsy. Any thoughts.

Why depressed? Stuff happens. You go to dr and take care of it. I get screened every 6 to 12 months. The lesions you posted need to be evaluated by a dermatologist.

Depending on how it looks to them and its location, they will either do a deep surgery if it looks likely cancerous or a shallow surgery and send for biopsy. I had a biopsy come back abnormal. They didn't say it was cancer but they didn't say it was benign. They said it needed to be removed and they did a deep surgery to remove it but good. If it's in a sensitive part of your body, they can do Mohs surgery to only remove until they get clear margins.

Don't sit on this but you'll be fine.

In answer to your question, yes. My advice is wait and see what the dermatologist comes back with. There are some new ways of treating it IF it is in fact skin cancer, depending on what type of cancer it is. Getting medical advice on an oil forum is not a good idea imo. Good luck.

Yes. Happens all the time. In CA, we all live in the sun, shorts, no shirt, lift weights, etc. Blond hair blue eye. Stupid...
Then this stuff happens when the years catch up.
I've had 2 skin cancer removals. Nuthin' to it. Get checked every 6 months.

Check out Moh's surgery:
Mohs surgery is a surgical procedure that removes skin cancer lesions by removing thin layers of skin one at a time and examining each layer under a microscope for cancer cells.

Thing is, those Doctors all have ex-wives, trophy wives, no-account kids and drive high-end German. And now Cybertruks... They need the money and we gotta help 'em out.

I've had many skin lesions. They all turned out to be actinic keratosis, (pre-cancerous, from sun exposure) Have some surgical scars where they were removed. Most of the time these things are benign.

You've done the right thing. Get a Dx. Till then try not to fret about it.

I'm a few years older than you & I'm redheaded white boy that didn't do any prevention until last few years. Wide brim hat & you can get very thin long sleeve shirts. Get some sun screen spray that makes it convenient to apply for the exposed parts if going to be outside for rmore than 30-60 min. depending on the cloud cover. I just went through my wife having breast cancer at your age but it's been removed & is cancer free now. Will continue to monitor for the rest of her life though. I was a smoker from 8-18 years old so I'm sure it'll get me eventually. Hang in there... Get the help & direction you need from the docs. Keep your head up & enjoy yourself the best you can. Stay busy etc.

Yes. Have had 4 removed from my back.
Had a bunch of places on arms and head frozen last month.
Have to go back a week from this Wednesday for followup.
Have one on my left arm that didn't seem to take the hint.
We'll see what needs to happen on that one.
I'd guess that one may have to be dug out.

I’m 30 and no skin cancer. But, every morning I put an SPF30 face moisturizer on when I get out of the shower. And if I’m going to be outside more than 15 minutes, I’ll put sunscreen on my arms and neck too.

Wear massive amounts of sunblock… And you’ll still get it in an unexpected place, like I did, in my ear! Moh’s surgery, almost all the way through my left ear, fortunately not melanoma. Which has claimed on of my best friends at 56 & my FIL at 63-it’s not to be trifled with.

On the contrary-sounds like a lot of us have had it! Get it checked out by a professional, and have the biopsy tested-I hope it’s nothing serious.

I've had two potential skin cancers on my face zapped with liquid nitrogen.

The area freezes, scabs over, dries up, and falls off. No aftereffects, and no problems.

I was definitely more careful after that to water a hat and use sunscreen.

I am very pale. I had a place on my leg and one on my back that I would have bet money were skin cancer. I went to the dermatologist this summer, and nope they were both benign. Had spots on top of my ear and on my cheek that could have potentially turned into cancer over time, so the doc froze them.

Not yet. I'm assuming it's a matter of time. Red hair (back when I had some) and freckles. One time I fell asleep while reading my Kindle and woke up to a "sun" burn. [Ok that's a Steve Martin line.]

I did have something questionable sliced off but it was nothing. Need to have a cheese grater taken to my neck though, the skin tags are really piling up.
