Like I said DO NOT BUY A TRIMMER AT A BOX STORE!
The only good one is the Echo (at Home Depot) and the Husky (at Lowes).

BUT support your local dealer! Prices should be the same and you will get better service after!

Ryobi, Homelite, Weedeater, Toro, Troybuilt trimmers are not good! You will have better power out of a smaller engine on a Good brand trimmer!

10 years or less is not good for a trimmer to last. Mine is 6 years old, my dads of the same brand is 16 years old.

Get a good trimmer, You wont regret it! I guarantee it!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, buy your lawn equipment at a store that specializes in that kind of product, you'll get better and more knowledgable service. OTOH, here in California, if you want power lawn equipment that starts easy and runs good, you have to go to Nevada or Oregon and buy it. The stuff sold here has extra tight pollution controls and they don't run well. The stuff across the border in Nevada doesn't have the stiffer controls and they run better. I even had a local sales guy tell me to go to Nevada to buy.

I bought a 4 cycle ryobi weedeater. I was wondering if the Ryobi 4 cycle 20w-50 engine lubricant is the same as the 20w-50 oil used for motorcycles? May be a stupid question but I gotta ask.

Any heavy-duty engine oil in the 15w40 or 20w50 range will be fine for this under 2oz sump. You brought back a ~6yr/old thread here, but I think the consensus is people still prefer 2-stroke string trimmers over 4 strokes, even after all these years. I know I had a 4-cycle Troy-Bilt and didn't care for it.

I have a cub cadet 4 stroke, runs quiet, smooth, but its Heavy!!!
i want a lighter 2 stroke. It does start easy every spring, i don't have to mix oil etc. But i hate to use it for very long! I'm looking for a 2 stroke.
