My 3/8" ratchet is locked up so I filled out the online form and sent a picture of it over 10 days ago. Other than a acknowledgment email the same day, I haven't heard back. Is this how their customer service works?
Anybody do a warranty replacement with Gearwrench?

I have had multiple Gearwrench combination wrench failures. The 3/8" 1/2" 9/16" 3/4" in my set have all froze or stripped. I throw them away as I think they are junk. I have replaced them with Husky and HF as they have failed. Both those brands are far superior imo. Haven't had the courage or trust to buy a ratchet.

I have a 1/2 and 3/8 120xp flexheads, not locking, they are my primary ratchets and have not disappointed. Their repair kits have worked for my older Craftsman professionals too which I beat the p*** out of.

Except that has a blasted lever to adjust the flex head position which I always seem to knock out of position causing the head to go limp at the worst times. The push-button on the Gearwrench is superior.
Free country. Do as you wish. Other brands don't use the lever.
What other brands? This is the only one I found using a push button at a reasonable price.
I know that Mac Tools has that style. Probably others. The cheapest option with a button lock will be a Gearwrench I'm sure.
Gearwrench replaced a socket for me. Filled out the online form and a new one came in the mail a few days later.

personally i find gearwrench wrenches to be uncomfortable to pull on. the edges of the wrenches are boxy and therefore make sharp corners. its hard to beat snap on wrenches. i haven’t tried any of the ICON ones yet but they look very comparable. i have many ICON sockets as they are much cheaper than snap on and have worked flawlessly. i’ve yet to break one even using them on impacts and they fit their respective sizes well.
I broke a 15mm gearwrench a few months ago. Over the last 20 years I have had these wrenches I have had both my Snapon and Cornwell dealers handle warranty exchanges. Both said they were no longer allowed to handle gearwrench warranty and it had to go through gearwrench. Did the online claim form, heard nothing, emailed, heard nothing, emailed again and was told out of stock may have stock by september. Replaced the whole set with Cornwell.
Plenty of brands that have ignorantly easy return policies.
I called to warranty one of their ratcheting wrenches. They said they were on 2 month back order but I’d be sent one once they were in stock.
My experience with Gearwrench has been ok. I’ve got a few of their ratchets that are nice and some sockets that are ok under both the GW and Napa Carlyle brands. It’s their ratcheting wrenches I’ve destroyed the most of. I bought mine way back when Gearwrench was the only ratcheting wrench commonly available. My OG set was stamped made in Taiwan and held up quite well. Once the common ones wore out I was wrecking the replacements in short order. My Snap On man was replacing them for me back then. Now that I’m not wrenching for a living I don’t wear out or break very many tools.
